  2. Fantastic job on the old kit Derek, really nice work
  3. Hi Richard, I brush because I like it, I find it relaxing. I dabbled with an airbrush a long time ago and ( for me ) it`s too much hassle. The only thing I`ve posted that wasn`t brushed was a 1/350 scale USS Enterprise ( Wrath of Khan not the Carrier ) which I did with a rattle can. Thanks for your interest Russ
  4. Great looking `George` there, really nice work
  5. Thanks Richard. The paints are Humbrol Enamels, Lt Gull Grey 129 and Satin White 130 slapped on with hairy stick. Once painted I drew the panel lines and control surfaces in with a pencil, glossed with Humbrol Clear Gloss Acrylic and decaled. Then matt coated, weathering was done with a combination of Olive Drab 66, Olive Drab 155 and Dark Grey 27, which were worked into and around the panel lines using a small stiff brush with the bristles cut down and worked around with my thumb. Then final gloss coats until I was happy with the sheen. Hope this helps and look forward to seeing yours when it`s done. Cheers Russ
  6. Howdy All, Just added another Skyhawk to my `nam collection, so thought you wouldn`t mind seeing a few Photo`s My attempt at a US Marines A-4 Skyhawk Built from Hobby Boss`s 1/48 kit As usual, mostly from the box contents Had to add a few bits and pieces here and there, which was surprising as I`d read good stuff about their 1/32nd kit and thought this would be pretty much the same I knew that the slats weren`t modelled extended, but I found a few of parked A-4`s with them still up So just needed to add some anti-collision lights, blade antenna on the `hump`, the pointy antenna on the underside between the guns... and the decals which came from AOA`s `Battle Scooters 3` set. The Napalm bombs from ICM Bronco. Hope you enjoy, thanks for looking Cheers Russ

  15. Thanks George, I think it`s because at first they had a different smaller shark mouth and style. Later when the larger shark mouth was painted on with the eyes further forward they either left the original eyes or perhaps they were painted over roughly and the paint wore away, not all of them I found, had the rear set of eyes. Cheers Russ
  16. Thanks very much, from the text, below the second photo: `Built from Eduards 1/48 Spitfire Mk VIII, `Weekend edition` kit` Cheers Russ
