  1. Another Kinetic F-16 because I’m mad... And a nice new cutting mat because the last one had seen better days and I fancied a bigger one. Sean
  2. I’m sure you have some space on your bench next to the Super Hornet that you’re building.. Plus there’s plenty of time left before the deadline too. Sean
  3. For my next trick I shall be attempting to turn this: Into something that looks like this: https://www.airplane-pictures.net/photo/788271/692-norway-royal-norwegian-air-force-general-dynamics-f-16a-fighting-falcon/ Sean
  4. Build about 4 or 5 at once no doubt..
  5. Build just one model? I have never heard of this idea, but it sounds like a terrible idea... Sean
  6. Here is my recently completed entry for the Nordic GB. Build thread here: As usual, any comments and criticism are welcome. Sean
  7. It wasn’t me that needed convincing, it was @Col. who needed the encouragement to move over to the dark side... Sean
  8. Here’s my Kinetic 1/48 F-16AM with Syhart decals for the Dannebrog anniversary scheme. More details in the build thread. Sean
  9. Færdig! As I like to make things difficult for myself, I am going to enter another F-16 into this GB. That one will be in the Norwegian markings that appeared earlier in this thread. Sean
  10. Good point about the smokewinders. I have no idea what they are then. Sean
  11. Yeah it is a little surprising considering Norway and Belgium use the more modern launchers. The Sidewinder “weights” as you call them are actually smoke dischargers used for displays. The Belgians also use them on their display F-16’s. Sean
  12. Landing gear on. I had a bit of a mare with the wash on one of the MLG wheels, it stuck too well and I couldn’t remove much of it. I’ll just claim it had a brake failure on that wheel. The next update should hopefully show the finished article. Sean
  13. Looking good. The strengtheners will definitely tone down under some primer/top coat/varnish etc. I can definitely recommend and Aires exhaust over the kit one. Just thinking about cleaning up those sprue attachments on the kit offering gives me nightmares Sean
  14. To keep Rich happy, I stuck myself in front of the bench tonight and last night. That resulted in me managing to finish the decals. The landing gear is next on the list to be tackled, and then it’s onto the smaller details such as antenna and static dischargers etc. But it’s safe to say the finish line for this one is in sight. Sean
  15. Well, I've not managed as much progress as I anticipated. This was mainly due to the fact the sun actually made an appearance on one of my days off work... That meant I was able to indulge in another hobby of mine which is fellwalking. There are some pictures of my various wanders here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/186287381@N03/ for those that are interested. Never fear though, it's supposed to rain again in the next few days so I'll make a bit more progress. Sean
  16. I don’t mind, if we can convince someone to convert to the dark arts of the F-16 then it’s all for a worthy cause. Sean
  17. I have a solution if you can’t find the Eduard boxing. If you get this kit: https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/K48036?result-token=vyoTp It has all the pieces required to build a F-16ADF including photo etched reinforcement plates. And then the Two Bobs decals: https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/TB48219?result-token=yshRB Still not cheap but not $149! On the subject of the Danish F-16, there should be more progress tomorrow night. Sean
  18. I have no idea what you’re talking about Hannants have decals for Dutch Diana, it’s definitely an eye opening scheme... Sean
  19. Thanks Dave. Given that it’s a modern jet, there are many more decals to apply in the form of stencils Sean
  20. As I mentioned earlier, I started the decals tonight. Sean
  21. I didn’t point you in this direction: https://www.hannants.co.uk/search/index.php?keyword_search=F-16&setPerPage=25&product_type_id=all_decals&scale_id=956&search_direction=asc&save_search=1&pageID=1 I've started the decals on the tail and I can wholeheartedly recommend the Syhart decals, they really are superb. Sean
  22. F-16’s are a good choice if you want to build a modern jet with a more interesting colour scheme rather than the usual plain grey. Sean
  23. Thanks Rich. I definitely agree about the vinyl masks although I imagine that they might work a bit better when painting with an airbrush rather than rattle can. There’s not much control with a spray can. My next build is definitely going to have a simpler paint job. Speaking of which, I have almost all the necessary things to create this: https://www.airliners.net/photo/Norway-Air-Force/General-Dynamics-Fokker-F-16BM-Fighting-Falcon-401/2131067/L That may or may not make an appearance in this group build, I’ll see how I get on with this one first. Sean
