  1. Wilkos £1 oven and BBQ cleaner. I swear by it for stripping chrome plating. Bleach has never worked for stripping anything for me. Ashley
  2. The colours on that Sauber remind me of Rothmans for some reason. Not more subliminal advertising is it? Lol Ashley
  3. Nick about the rally plates. Weren't they pressed aluminium in those days? If so you could have just cut the decal out and used white glue to stick it in place. Ashley
  4. Yeah I'm not sure if I believe the Iraq bit but it's what I read somewhere lol. The transit Toolings were believed to be lost until Italeri repoped it last year. So I suspect they have all the Toolings personally lol. Ashley
  5. The Nitto one that Italeri have is 1/24. I built their boxing when it was released about 10 years ago. Hasegawa one is more accurate anyway. I agree too. But that's if Italeri have the tooling for it. I've heard rumours that some ex esci Toolings made there way as far a field as Iraq if you can believe that 😮 Ashley
  6. http://www.spotmodel.com/index.php?manufacturers_id=132 Don't be fooled by the place holder pics. The escort is the ex ESCI mold. They are also releasing the ex ESCI Renault 5 Alpine and the EX Nitto Lancia Stratos Safari. Basically Revell and Italeri are near enough partners as they commonly reboxed each others kits and I believe Italeri brought a lot of the old ESCI Toolings when they folded, being an Italian Company as well. And at the time of the Revell boxing, they were commonly re boxing Hasegawa rally car kits, so releasing the Escort made sense even though Italeri owns the tooling. Ashley
  7. Looking good. One thing that you might not be interested in anyway lol. I think the engine should be red. GM use red for their performance engines, Chrysler - Orange and Ford - Blue. Ashley
  8. Just so you're aware. Italeri are RE releasing it this year 😉 Ashley
  9. I've brushed Zero paints before as I too don't own an airbrush. You'll need to prime the surface with an automotive primer. Like halfords spray cans stuff first. It'll take a lot of coats to get an even coverage and you'll need to sand each coat in between to get a flat surface. Work near an open window as the paint smells a bit. Their clear coat is the only thing you'll need a respirator for as its poisonous. But I'd just use a normal clear lacquer spray can from halfords anyway. Oh and just so you know. You do need a clear coat as Zero paints are matt. Ashley
  10. It's already out and there's a build of it going on in the vehicle wip section if you'd like to have a ganders Ashley
  11. Stop it. I don't need any more temptations to start mine 😜 Awesome progress so far. I shall follow along in earnest. Ashley
  12. Saw an Iseki TE 4370 yesterday at work. I should state I work in a hospital, so seeing a tractor is odd lol Ashley
  13. Tbf Keith I think you priced stuff fairly. I certainly wouldn't have brought it had it been much more. I've always stopped myself getting caught up in the eBay prices because of this very situation of them being released again lol. But I did see a couple escorts for sale at Telford for the 100 mark 😮 Ashley
  14. A fair point, although the ESCI original I have, I paid well less than what a brand new belkits kit costs. So that lessens the kick in the nuts some people will be feeling when they come out lol. But also if you then factor in the costs of decal sets, etch sets and transkits it all starts to mount up lol. Ashley
  15. Damn it, just what my bank balance doesn't need lol Ashley
  16. And that's without any electrical piping lol. Working on the decals at the mo. Hopefully an update soon. Ashley
  17. Eeee Gads. Revell have ceased with the split wheel approach. 😁 Still managed to mess up the UK number plates though 😣 lol Might have to pull up a chair for this. Ashley
  18. It's for the White Texaco car that entered the '87 Monte Carlo. Comes with decals and a transkit. Though my experience of Reji Transkits, they always seem to leave something out, or just be full of air bubbles lol. Decals are usually great though. Ashley
  19. I was given a free RS500 kit as my friend though he'd lost the decals. He found them later but I'm now eyeing up the transkit Reji are about to release for it now lol. Ashley
  20. Your only option would be the Fujimi 911 GT3R kit. I believe it's a 997 911. There's no newer 911 models than that as far as I know. Ashley
  21. Looking excellent Nick. Surely the second rear caliper would be for the handbrake Keith? Still not sure whether they had the 2 or just 1 that did both? Ashley
  22. It depends on what you are modelling. As far as I'm aware Twin Cams were painted Ermine White with Diamond White being used on the RS1600's. I base that on Graham Robson stating in his Works Escort book, not the Works Escort in Detail book. That all the first 25 Production Twin Cams were painted white. They were built in late 1967, and correct me if I'm wrong but of those 2 whites, only Ermine was a factory colour at that time. The introduction year if Diamond white could hold the key with when it was introduced onto the Boreham Escorts but if you chose Ermine for Twin Can, Diamond for RS, you wouldn't be far off in my opinion.
