  1. Great job on engine detail and the prop paint, incredible work. Some patience you must have.
  2. A type of aircraft I can't yet dare to build, a good job done and great weathering.
  3. Welcome back to the hobby, It's like you took a 30 mins break you seem not to have lost your touch, great builds sir.
  4. Thanks, for the 1/72 I guess I used light blue Revell acrylics and for the 1/144 one middle grey Revell acrylics Thanks, I'm not much of a diorama maker but I want to try something like that again, an iceberg diorama for the 1/1200 Titanic Thank you, to be honest I didn't expect the F-5 to look like that, I brush paint so camo transitions in the manual couldn't be done like that so I just tried that and the result wasn't bad Thank you I really like the Phantom too and want to build a 1/144 scale one in the near future, I mostly did the unusual color schemes in a moment of "what da hell" or lack of colors needed in the local store but some cam out good. I'll try to be more accurate in colorwise but can have other "what da hell" moments in the future too Good to know I got to improve, hope to improve more in the future thank you Blackbird is one of my favourite aircrafts I looked for it for long and still want to build the Revell kit too, if I could do the bird justice I am glad Thank you There used to be kits I hated for a reason or another like the Me-262 or the Tornado F3 or else but mostly I really enjoyed building and trying new things. I'll try to enjoy more and more and improve on the go. Perfection is way too far from me at the moment an will be so for long years to come I believe so won't be pursueing it at all for now. Thank you, I look forward to build more and improve and also share my work here with you guys Thanks I try to improve with every new build although I screw some badly in the process, seeing some great modelers here encourages me though Also after some sleep I added the rest of this year's builds too. So easy and hard, good and bad 55 builds in total. Thank all you guys for taking the time to look and share your opinions, I appreciate it Regards
  5. 31) The first tank model I built. Done not good with the weathering. Revell 1/72 Leopard 2A6M. 32) Another Star Wars build. X-Wing EasyKit. 33) Revell 1/48 Northrop F-5F Tiger II "Aggressor" I tried pencil panel lining on this one, wasn't quite successful. 34) Revell 1/72 Nieuport N.28 C-1 while building this I messed the number 12 decals on the sides. 35) The first submarine I built, was pretty pleased with the result. Revell 1:144 German U-Boot Type VII C/41 Atlantic Version. 36) NewRay 1:32 M4A3 Sherman. NewRay models are awful and very inaccurate mostly and easy to assembly like snap kits of Revell, just a few screws and you're done. This was too cheap to not to buy so I bought it did a lil painting and weathering and this was the result. 37) Revell 1/72 De Havilland D.H.2 38) Revell 1/72 Tornado F.3 ADV, didn't enjoy building this one so I didn't do a good job building. 39) Revell 1/144 Eurofighter Typhoon Single Seater, this kit had a problem with the packaging, the canopy in the box wasn't the Typhoon's so I had to do some clipping and keep it open. 40) Revell 1/144 C-17A Globemaster 41) Revell 1/72 Fokker Dr.1 Triplane 42) The piece of crap NewRay claims to be a 1/72 SR-71 Blackbird, it looks more like 1/144 but I looked for a Blackbird kit for so long and couldn't find so seeing this I had to buy no matter what. 43) Revell 1/72 Schnellboot S-100 & Flak 38 Anti-Aircraft Gun. Built this by the advice of a friend and I enjoyed building it and the result wasn't bad either. 44) Revell 1/350 U-Boot Type VII D, the second submarine I built. 45) Academy 1/72 Lockheed Skunk Works SR-71A Blackbird. After looking for it for a long time finally I found a Blackbird, as I built the SR-71 I built the D-21 Drone included in the box seperately. And the drone: 46) Revell 1/144 F-15 E Strike Eagle - 2005 Tiger Meet of the Americas, one of my best builds so far I think, really enjoyed building this litle bird. 47) Revell 1/72 Royal Aircraft Factory S.E. 5a. As usual I don't like building biplanes and triplanes but I keep building them with the hope of liking when I do better aligning the wings. 48) Revell 1/570 R.M.S. Titanic, built for my sister on her request. Tried to paint with oil paints for the first time and decided gotta keep them only for weathering. Waiting for them to dry is a torture. 49) Revell 1/72 Fairey Swordfish Mk. I, this was biplane I actually enjoyed building and so the result wasn't bad I guess. 50) Revell 1/87 Big Boy Locomotive, this is the first and so far the only train model I built. I really enjoyed especially the weathering part, also this is the model that took me the longest to complete, I fineshed it in 4 days spending around 3-4 hours a day. 51) Revell 1/720 Nuclear Carrier U.S.S. Enterprise, I always wanted Tamiya's 1/350 U.S.S. Enterprise but couldn't find it and as I was looking for this one my cousin found it for me, enjoyed building but messed the 65 decal at the front edge of the deck. I want to detail the tiny aircrafts more someday if I can. 52) Revell 1/72 Messerschmitt Me 262 B-1a/U1 Nightfighter, I hated this kit, I don't know if it is the kit, my lack of ability to make something good out of it or else but I want to build another Me-262 sometime and not a nightfighter one. I left this kit incomplete and took a 2 months break from the hobby and after that break I just said "ok let's just finish this" and got on th job. The camo in the manual I think couldn't be done without an airbrush and as I hand brush paint the models I tried this messy crappy paint job. Crappy finish for a crappy building process. Will try to do justice to another Me-262 one day though. 52) Revell 1/72 Fokker E.III, as I neither like the rigging process and nor I am good at it I just added a couple of em and left it like this. 53) Revell 1/144 Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II a.k.a. Warthog, A-10 was again an aircraft I wanted to build when I get the chance so when I found the kit I bought it and statred toplay with it, I didn't see much good stuff about this kit over the net but still liked building it. 54) Revell 1/144 Dassault Rafale M, messed this one's canopy with spray varnish then with a nail block I tried to fix it. Didn't do magic but still made it a bit better. Partially fixed canopy: 55) The last build so far, Revell 1/144 F-16C 65th Anniversary, decals on the nose part were a bit tricky but managed not to completely mess them. And that concludes a year spent making models, hope you enjoyed the ride guys and every critique and advice is highly appreciated. Regards İsmail
  6. 15) Revell 1/72 Eurofighter Typhoon Twin Seater again a bad choice of color and a tragic weahering. 16) Revell 1/72 Spad XIII C-1. The colors stated in the manual are not used and badly weathered again. 17) This was the first ship I built and painted, 1/1200 Titanic by Revell. 18) Next inaccurately painted and badly weathered kit is Revell 1/72 Focke Wulf Fw 190 A-8. 19) This is an aircraft I wanted to build so when I saw the kit I jumped on it. Revell 1/144 F-104 G Starfighter a.k.a. Manned Missile. 20) Revell's 1/72 P-51D Mustang this was the first kit I painted the canopy of and so I began painting canopies too. 21) Again another ship and my first try at rigging which I literally suck at. Revell 1/450 Spanish Galleon. 22) Revell's 1/144 MIG-29. Used Enamel white to paint and since then I try to stay away from enamels. 23) This was the first 1/48 kit I built. Revell 1/48 F-4 C Phantom II. 24) Revell 1/72 Pirate Ghost Ship another ship and rigging. Didn't use the light emitting paint much to not to make it look all white. 25) Revell 1/144 F-19 Stealth Fighter 26) Revell 1/220 C-160 Transall. Was an easy kit to assembly and paint but I could manage to cut a part of one of the wings. 27) Revell 1/72 Albatros D.III I don't like building biplanes or triplanes as aligning the wings is not a thing I have patience with and for this particular plane metallic color instead of gray was a bad thing to do but I did it somehow. 28) Yet another ship and my first aircraft carrier build. Revell 1/720 U.S.S. Intrepid (CV-11) 29) Revell 1:570 H.M.S. King George V yet another ship, it was the first time I tried to weather a ship and I got a bit extreme with it and as theplasticsurgeon told, I assembled the superstructure the wrong way but in my defence I did what the manual told me to do. Later I fixed it for sure. 30) Revell 1:144 AH-64D Longbow Apache so far the first and only helicopter I built.
  7. Well people this'll be a long one so grab a drink and hopefully enjoy the ride. First a short story about me: I always liked making models, when I was around 13 I built two F-16s and 1 F-14 all 1/72 scale, no paint etc just glue em together and done but when I wasn't at homöe my little cousin thought they were toys and playing with them wasn't enough so stuck one's drop tank into another exhaust etc, and creatively broke them may he rest in peace... ok he isn't dead at least not yet So since then I always wanted but never made any models, until last year. In February 2012 I saw Revell kits being sold in a store and couldn't resist and bought one and that started the hobby for me. So I spent a year making models. Good ones, bad ones, disasters I wanted to show you all how I spent my first year building models so you can see my progress, share your opinions which I appreciate or maybe tell me if I should give up before it's too late If this is the wrong place to open this topic please move it to correct place but as I majorly build aircrafts I opened it here. Ok first I need to say that as model building isn't mouch of a common hobby here it is hard to find aftermarket stuff so I mostly build OOB and brush paint my models. I can mostly find Revell kits so build Revell mostly. Guess that's it so here we go: 1) My first build was 1/72 F-16 Tiger Meet, no paint, decals applied. I somehow couldn't fit the seat properly so the canopy couln't be closed, had to keep it open. 2) Second build was Revell's 1/720 Hindenburg again no paint, just decals. 3) Third one was a try at a ship, 1/1200 Queen Mary 2, still no shot at painting. 4) My next build was again a ship. Revell's 1/1200 Bismarck. No paint again at first. After a few months and some painted aircrafts I decided to paint the little thing and here is the result: And a lil while later I tried to add some water: 5) After two ships I returned back to the roots and built a 1/144 F-14A Tomcat one of my favourite aircrafts but had no shot at painting again. 6) Number six was Revell 1/144 AV-8B Harrier II not painted. 7) Revell 1/144 F/A-18 E Super Hornet paint free. 8) My next non-painted piece was Revell 1/144 F-117 A Stealth Fighter. As I didn't use weight I had a tailsitting problem with it. 9) My next victim was the 1/144 Airbus A380 kit which I messed the decals a bit. 10) As the tenth build I got lazy and built this Fokker DR I Snapkit. 11) As the 11th build and as a Star Wars fan I built an EasyKit of Millenium Falcon. 12) This kit was the last non painted kit I built, took some time to take a brush in my hand as you can see... 1/72 P-47D Thunderbolt 13) And this is the first kit I tried painting and also weathering, this was a set I bought and used the paints included in the kit, weathering a kit without a clear coat and using acrylics to weather it with causes disasters, 1/144 Tornado ECR by Revell. 14) The next painted and awfully weathered kit was again a 1/144 Tornado, Tornado IDS by Revell.
  8. Thank you guys, today I took one of my sister's nail block things and tried to fix the canopu with it a bit, didn't do magic but improved it a bit. Here is the result:
  9. Thank you for the nice comments people, much appreciated. I built two 1/144 Tornado kits both from Revell, IDS and ECR. I have to say I didn't enjoy building them but they were one of the first kits I've built maybe can give Tornado another shot sometime in the future. Yea this time I masked the canopy Aftermarket decals or any accessories are hard to find here especially for 1/144 scale unfortunately as model making is not a common hobby so I always need to build OOB. Yes you need to paint the tanks but somehow the manual tells you to paint them gray, so at first I painted them gray and after varnishing the model I decided to repaint the tanks to red-blue-white as original and as shown in the boxart took em off then repainted and don't think I did a very good job but painting on the sprues before assembly would be easier and better as I usually do. Matching the colors wasn't that hard I used Revell white, blue and fiery red colors and they worked well.
  10. That's a great looking camo and a nice clean build, makes me wish my 1/72 one was half as good, lovely piece of work sir.
  11. Good build and paint job sir a bit of weathering could maybe improve it too though I prefer intensively weathered models mostly. Great job overall.
  12. Finished yesterday, had a few fitting problems and I messed with decals a bit but am still pleased with the result. Regards
  13. Built this a few days ago and along the build I learnt a big lesson: never use spray varnish with the canopy on and not masked. Here we go: Regards Update: Canopy kinda fixed with nail block thing...
  14. Great example, I'm also starting to built this kit today
  15. Hello people, after over two months of a break I am back and making models again. After the break I completed 3 models in the last couple of days, 1/72 Messerschmitt Me 262, 1/72 Fokker E.III and 1/144 A-10 Thunderbolt II and here is the third of them: I didn't see many good reviews about this kit but I still enjoyed building it... Regards
  16. Hello people, after over two months of a break I am back and making models again. After the break I completed 3 models in the last couple of days, 1/72 Messerschmitt Me 262, 1/72 Fokker E.III and 1/144 A-10 Thunderbolt II and here is the second of them: I always hated ti rigging of aircrafts so didn't pay much attention to this one's, here it is:
  17. One of the best F-16 builds I've seen so far it's absolutely fantastic. I never seem to get my panel lines even half as good, awesome work really.
  18. Amazing work sir. Incredible finish and weathering and I loved the cockpit. Sad that I don't have space to build such giant birds.
  19. Hello people, after over two months of a break I am back and making models again. After the break I completed 3 models in the last couple of days, 1/72 Messerschmitt Me 262, 1/72 Fokker E.III and 1/144 A-10 Thunderbolt II and here is the first of them: I started this model before the break but hated the build for no reason I can specifically tell. So two months later I said "what tjhe hell let's get this over with" and started building it again. As I brush paint the camo in the manual wasn't quite possible to achieve so I experimented and I gotta say it came out as awful as possible. Still here it is, one of the worst builds I've ever done:
