NIce work, I've got one of these on the go too.

The scheme would be a simple one as you would only need one colour. Pure Dead Brilliant White.

They're not ships, they're boats!

It's definately the shark's teeth, that's why I made one when I was little. -

Obviously a popular choice with 5yr olds. My son made one of these too. -
It's ok, it showed up. It was in the drawer.

This month's modelling minutes mean masking (try saying that after a few)! This is what they look like from the other side.

Another 1/24 Airfix Typhoon; Really? I'm Back!

Wasn't the Spitfire XVI the result of the incompatibilty between American-made doodads and British-builts whatsits and thingummies? I'm sure I read that somewhere. -
I finally managed to get myself over to the Midland Air Museum on Friday. What a great place. Spent a good couple of hours wandering around and having a good look at everything. Highlights for me included the Sea Hawk, Gannet, Phantom, Sea Harrier and of course the Vulcan, which you can go inside. Highly recommended if you haven't been, I can't wait to go again.

Finally made it along to the Midland Air Museum yesterday. What a fantastic place and yes, I did go inthe Vulcan. Highly recommended.

Citadel's Nuln Oil seems to be gaining a lot of fans here on BM. I've been using it for a while with good results. I blame Robvulcan, of course. It's all his fault.

My 5 yr old son loves Cosford so much that we must have been there a dozen times already. My favourites are the Test Flight, War Birds and Cold War hangars, so pretty much everything! Do not miss the Spitfire, it's the oldest surviving example in the world. Also look out for the Vulcan. If you can't see it you are probably underneath it.

Did you not see all of the Eduard spitfire builds? You couldn't move for them for a while. Let's see your Typhoon, the more the merrier. -
Need it want it must have it.

A little more progress made as I managed to get a few minutes modelling done this week. I painted the wing using Citadel's Scar White thinned with W&N Flow Improver which worked really well. Thanks to Robvulcan for that little tip. Just the top camo to apply and I can start on final assembly as most of the small parts are done. I seem to have mislaid a Watts prop, though, so I may be begging a new one on the wanted board soon! See you all in another year or so.

MikroMir Vickers Valiant B.MK.1 1/144TH Scale :)
dadgaddad replied to robvulcan's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Whenever a kit comes through my door I always say it was a free one but I'm never believed. Looks great and even at 1/144 still a fair size.- 87 replies

Does robvulcan know about this?

I've used Jadlams a couple of times, too, and had low prices and speedy delivery. Can't complain at all.

Airfix Spitfires in 1/72 - can anyone clarify?
dadgaddad replied to Mitch K's topic in Aircraft WWII
The Mk I/Ia/II is a great little kit but they take a very long time to build. I've had three on the go since my son was born 20 months ago and they're still not finished.
