  1. Is this it? http://www.halfords.com/motoring/paints-body-repairs/specialist-decorative-paints/halfords-matt-lacquer-300ml#tab3
  2. What's wrong with Lego style toys for kids? My son is 5 and he loves them. He has also built a number of kits as a result.
  3. I hate to be the one to bring this up but this must be the worst Vulcan you've made so far. The wings are definately the wrong shape, the length looks to be at least 1mm out and I'm pretty sure the canopy is in the wrong place. Is it too late to fix it?
  4. Yes, me too. I built one of these back in the 70s when I was about 11 or 12 and the fuselage didn't fit on mine either. The idea that I should build another one is still gently niggling away in the back of my mind after all these years.
  5. Purely for the sake of being contrary, may I suggest selling them and spending the money on something you really want.
  6. I built their Mig 15 and enjoyed it loads. The decals were very thick, more like a child's stickers but they worked ok.
  7. Very nice work, I have the Wyvern and Sea Hawk in my stash and I'm keen to get them started, I just have a few other things to finish first. My father was on HMS Eagle during Operation Musketeer so this is a particularly interesting build, I'll have to show him this next time he comes over.
  8. Where do I get "Plastic Pixie Magic" from? I looked but Hannants doesn't appear to have any, none on ebay either.
  9. Get yourself a pot of Citadel's Nuln Oil. It makes a great wash and is popular with a growing number of BMers, it seems.
  10. He didn't want to paint this one as it would slow everything down too much, this was definitely a speed build!
  11. Yesterday my 5 year old son asked to go to the local model shop. We had a good look around and he chose this Sopwith Camel. I thought it would be far too difficult for him but it was only £3.50 so I let him have it. He built his first model, a Lightning, a couple of years ago at an Airfix day at the Cosford museum and since then he has built a Red Arrows Gnat, a Zvezda FW190 and a couple of Airfix Quickbuild Spitfires. Here are the results of a couple of hours of fun and it's mostly his own work, especially the decals.
  12. All work stops at tea time. Engine with rotating propellor Engine and propellor on and wheels fitted.
  13. Upper wing attatched and undercarriage fitted.
  14. Checking the alignment of the lower wing and struts.
  15. The fuselage comes in two parts. There is a pilot figure whom we have named Douglas Bader (for obvious reasons!)
  16. Yesterday afternoon Dad took me to the local model shop and he bought me this. As soon as we got home we started to build it and here are some pictures. When building your model the first thing you need is a sign on the door saying "Work in Progress". This will keep little brothers out. This is what we're going to be building. A Revell 1/72 Sopwith F1 Camel. The instructions And a sprue shot.
  17. Great work! The Mark III in RAF colours is definately my favourite Mustang.
  18. need it want it must have it.
