  1. - Thank you Bosse, in my long modelling career it is the first time I meet this kind  of seat belts .Previously, decals, photo-etched, paper even scratched  with wine bottleneck lead or old tooh paste tubes when not in soft plastic..were the usual stuff,, but why not those self-adhésive realistic fabric looking material. that's why it is recommended to fix them preiously on  paper for ease of handling ... airbrush painting is mandatory  with only a drybrush on the nice looking seams to sort them out ......O.K it  deserves to be experimented.....let's see....

  2. -  Excellent -  For many years I was tempted by  these kits, there was also a Starfighter cockpit if my memory don't fail in the sam range.. never stepping up and your's has re ignited the fire; a bit late as I suppose they are difficul to find t an affordable cost. I will follow your W.I.P with great interest

  3. - It was a dog of a kit, it deserved better treaments by the kit industry, as far as I remenber the first and ony reproduction of this beatifull looking jet, was from Lindberg. Idon't remember if it was the short or long nose version- Owing to the period, the late fifties it could have been the short in Blue Angels colors I those days Iwas an inconditionnal of Buck DANNY

    - Yours is simply magnificent....

  4. - Major BLATCH was the braviest amongst the braviest.

-I own this small green book I received from the former Mayor of the village of Mijanes who told me this story when I brought the model for his museum. I rediscover it recently and I thought I could illustrate conviniently, by a short summary, the post of my model I had never posted yet on B.M and offering  a good tribute to these heroes, the year the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landing. Thank you for your  nice comment

Such a wonderful tribute you have made to a group of men that gave their all.  The Dakota looks great.  Thanks for sharing and more thanks for taking the time to do a tribute to those that made the ultimate sacrifice.

Thank you George - 2024 is the 80th birthday of the Normandy landing, (as well as mine)  I've though it was  a good manner to pay tribute to those allied soldier who remain on the beaches for ever.....

-I'm sorry for the photo as they are not like those I usually show, but the delay to the inauguration day of the museum was limited,  they are the only I took from my painting place from the window of my workshop which explain the one sided view, I paint it like a museum model ready to be exposed, without any weathering with only the mandatory markings visible.

  6. - In the night of 5 December 1944 - Almost  80 years ago, a DC-3,FL-588 code NQ-Z of the 24 TRS SQ carrying 20 glider pilots of the Glider Pilot Regiment and three R.A..F crew members crashed on the "Pic de la Camisette" mount over the small village of "Mijanes" down in the valley of the Pyrenees chain under apalling winter weather. They were bound for the war against the Japanese.

    - Five of them survived albeit severly injured. Two of them , Major Blatch and Sgt BAKER were able to walk. At 10 AM after an awful night they went to search for rescue in the village where they arrived at 16 PM. On the 7th  the rescuers found the survivors and headed to the safety in the valley carrying them on their back.

.- On the 25 August 2005 remains of the Dakota were extracted from the mountain lake in which they had fallen by a team of the 67 Rgmt d Helicoptere and on of it's PUMA. an engine,a propeller, a piece of wing amongst other parts were extracted and installed in a small commemorative museum of the village whose mayor heard I was one of those crazy having the strange childhood habit to play with small plastic planes, soI proposed him to built  model of the DC 3 for his museum......

Just a really great build and finish of this aircraft that is totally enhanced by the absolute gem of a diorama.  Just a very nice presentation to look at and keep finding new details with every view.  What kit was the base for this?  Thanks for sharing.

-Thank you for your very nice comment. The kit is a resin  kit from the Czech brand MPM/HML in quater inch scale This brand is ( was ?) specialized in rare model never to be found in traditionnal kits models firmas like for instance the Arado Ar 240 and others
