  1. Yes, thanks for tip on the decals. Smart looking aircraft and one day I'll get around to building mine.
  2. Good, I want a set of these barrels for my Dreadnought kit.
  3. Be interesting to see how much it costs as well. The Mercury was sold out of Australia in US dollars and partly manufactured in China. Weird !
  4. Hope they put them in issues available Down Under !
  5. Is that USS Eastwood or USCGB Eastwind ( W279 ) that is a Wind Class Icebreaker ?
  6. Hopefully someone will do a set for the 1/700 version from Trumpeter before long ?
  7. I was hoping to do the aircraft with the canopy in the open position as the front canopy piece has got a problem that isn't really fixable. I have quite a number of kits to build before I get around to building the Wildcat, so I will just wait for the replacement from Airfix. I did ask them how long could the wait could take and they could not offer any time frame at all, so it could be either weeks or months. Thanks for the offer Rabbit Leader, but I'll wait for Airfix to send me the replacement parts ( part D2 ) as I'm not in hurry to build it yet. The part seems to have air bubbles within the canopy with a large couple on the side and a couple more smaller bubbles in the top pane of the canopy
  8. I just my purchased my Wildcat locally here in Oz and there is a very visible blemish or a bubble within the front canopy part. Just asked Airfix about sending a replacement and as usual they have no spares available and put me into a waiting list ( with no guestimate as to when that might be ) so they can send them later. Bloody annoying as this is not the first time of late with that have had poorly moulded clear parts from recent Airfix kits that I have bought ! .
  9. Leopard Workshop make a set LW015 for Canadian Leopard 2A4M CAN/2A6M CAN.
  10. Alright, I guess 1/8 of an inch would be close enough.
  11. I was looking on Hobbysearch to see the instructions for this kit and have list the box that is smaller than what you give, i.e. 42x28x6.7cm .
  12. No, I just wondered what was the cubic size of the box.
  13. Can you tell me what is the size of the box in centimetres and if possible its weight ?
  14. Good thing you mention that the turret is unmanned as it appears to have a shot trap on the front of the turret for opposing enemy gunners to aim at.
  15. Oh my poor wallet ! I will hate to see the price in Aussie dollars, but this one is really interesting.
  16. Another kit to add to the stash !
  17. Buy the Shipcraft book on the QE class for the camouflage guide and colours. Yes, I already have the book. Maybe the term " Cow " is a tad strong but I do wish Trumpeter could do better research when releasing their products to us in modelling land. I'd rather do the ship in her 1941 guise . Hopefully someone will do a dedicated etch sheet for her at some stage I also have Trumpeter's model of the HMS Barham to do and will not follow their instructions to the letter as they have gotten the radar fit on that vessel incorrect. The box art is essentially correct, but you would have thought that someone would have told them about the oversight before they released the kit to the public !
  18. I have just bought the kit and noticed quite a few irregularities with the kit. Firstly the kit is described as being for a 1941 fit, but the kit if built using the instructions, you end up with the vessel in the 1943 fit. Completely missing from the kit are the 0.5" anti-aircraft guns, but are shown on Turret B in Step 3 of the instructions, however the twin 20mm oerlikons are shown in Step 1. The kit is also missing many of the smaller gun tubs for the individual anti-aircraft guns. The colour sheet included shows the vessel in it's 1941 fit, but the kit if built according to the instructions should be in the 1943 fit. Looks as if Trumpeter has delivered another cow of a kit with details either missing or superimposed with other parts not applicable with the ship in its 1941 guise !
  19. Is the front undercarriage assembly like the Hasegawa kit ? Is it just a solid lump or does it have the two separate prongs that mount to the fuselage ?
  20. Mouse House Enterprises from Australia do a set of SLR rifles in resin. Mouse Armour MAW 704, 3 rifles for Au $8.00.
  21. Time to bring that LIDAR machine down under to scan the CAC Boomerang fighters now that we have at least three flying models to choose from.
  22. Saw the movie last Friday at the Flashback Friday showing at my local cinema.
