I first met Tony and Jan at IPMS nationals way back in the 80's when the AHS were a sponsor along with Midland Counties books. They were a lovely couple who always had some interesting Hasegawa with them (pre internet), Tony was a true believer and a gent, RIP tony

A little tale of our times. Way back over two and a half months ago I ordered two REX Exhausts on an auction site. One arrived quickly despite the uncertain times in Ukraine.Days ran into weeks then into months and I wrote the other off, nothing to be done. So my surprise yesterday when a little package dropped through my letter box containing an exhaust for my LVG CV1 Bless them.

One point that is'nt given much prominence is that there are too many shows. Anyway the grapevine is working and soon the moaning traders will be unmasked. As for under the table sales this is surely a question of degree and there is always one or two who will over do it on a consistent basis. If traders are unhappy then don't book space at shows and that may force the issue but I will still buy at my LMS who also buys surplus stash from me and I buy from the bargain boxes it's a roundabout that seems to work. There is a paucity of shows along the M62 corridor but modelling goes on. As for paying to get in I have said in previous posts that people would baulk at paying a realistic amount but there has to be a levelling up.

KP have been up front about using some of the Czechmaster molds while OTHERS HAVE NOT. Anyway many moons ago I managed to get a resin copy at the 16th Escadron in Brussells while at an IPMS Belgium event. Going by the Replica label with a decent little decal sheet now add some Modelart roundels you could be in with a chance. Now if you are getting confused just bear in mind that as to date there is only one original

Why, the clear parts from the old Airfix kit fit the Valom copy as well.

Built their little Fokker E5 and a good little kit it was. Looking forward to the Ki 84 release and it does look a good package, though found out yesterday that it will retail at £26 but believers will buy methinks.

The KITCAT use's Bayer Ultima 0,06 mm blue grey fishing line and a variety Stroft blue grey fishing line widths ( I wonder where these come from) these are not black and are of consistent width. There is a lot of experimentation on use with Albion Alloys turnbuckles at present and more on this later, If you search for these on Ebay do a general search AND NOT for Stroft line because you will be charged loads. Further to my last post as mad as a March hare the KITCAT strikes again bagging a WnW's tin donkey even though it took Ebay 3 minutes to figure who had won. Now my thinking is this, even if these moulds are ever sold on would the the result be better kits or like Meng models show signs of cost cutting. Also the scalpers would charge god knows what so I through caution to the wind and guessed it would reach over £200 and it did. Gasp KITCAT

Well all of you have frightened the KITCAT. Now I will have to check my decal stock But do these folk ever check the decals produced for them instead of shoving them into the boxes and selling the kits to desperate modellers. Shock I may not buy any as the smoke signals show there may be problems, Roll on a fire sale at Miramar (some hope)

Well I've got one ordered from my lms but wether I buy any others will be open to question and that is the big issue I think as the makers are surely looking for multiple purchases from interested modellers. My big gripe is the odd markings on the later version so yet again I plead for photo evidence.

Late last week after visiting my LMS in West Yorkshire I discovered a Quinta Studios 1/32 detail set for an Albatros D1 and Ray's rag on a Fokker triplane in my bag. Don't understand how they got there!!!
