Although this is a little out of the scope of the question, but ... When I was doing my degree Finals in 1976, I needed to have a break from revision (any excuse!). So I built a Tamiya 1/35 Quad Gun tractor. I still have it sitting in my man-cave windowsill. Nothing missing! Not much dust, Decals still look good. Over 45 years! Not bad going... Cheers, Alan.

My dad used to get the Eagle comic as a lad himself, and when he got married and I came along (Dark pre-historic times...), he continued to get it for me from the newsagent. I loved the Dan Dare strip. Can't really remember much else about it (I do have a couple of Eagle annuals somewhere - 1952, 53 & 56 if I recall). It went downhill after it was merged with Boy's World comic. Too many WWII strips for me. Dan Dare was a lot more nuanced than 'good guys - us, bad guys - them! Ah well. Speaking as man of a similar age here. (Pensionable) I have driven Mk3/Mk4/5 Cortinas and two or three Sierras over the years, and as far as I can tell (Early 80's), the sierra knocked spots off the Cortinas. I have driven a 1.8L, 2.3 Ghia and the mighty XR4-i. They were all great drives. I did like the way that you could kick out the rear-end with a bit of throttle, especially the V6 ones, and then control it with a bit of opposite lock. I never got the chance to try a Cossie of any type, unfortunately. They did seem a bit of a handful. My favourite "fast" Ford was my Fiesta XR2 MkII. That was a blast! Hi Spiny, Nice to see this one on the move again. (Mine has stalled somewhat). Good to see the suspension all set up and installed. I was worried that the front axles and the steering arm mounts were somewhat delicate and the slightest breath of air on them and they would disintegrate! But, judging by yours, they are more robust than I thought. That's one of the reasons mine has stalled... Cheers, Alan.

My Dad had a Cortina 2000E in the mid seventies. It actually was a nice drive. Nothing special in the handling department, but a nice drive all the same. His was pale blue. Ah, memories ... Cheers, Alan.

Hi Andy, I'll be honest, I can't face the faff (and mess) of decanting paint from an aerosol, so if I have a can of paint, I'll just spray from the can. I did this the other day on my Jaguar XJR9 (I think that's what it's called), and I think that it came out pretty good... Cheers, Alan.

A friend of mine once had a Boxster and loved it, He replaced it with a newer Cayman, but dumped it after a year or so, stating that it was too much of a Plod magnet. He drove it too quick because he found speed perception in it difficult. He chopped it in against another Boxster, because he felt that being "in the air", meant that you knew you were going too fast... Cheers, Alan.
