I reckon you should use decals for the eyes.

I started to restore it by pulling it apart
That driver looks like a scaled down version of the one in the 1/24th James Bond Aston Martin...
Although I can't imagine Bond in a Victor Estate...

Looks great but your images are 4000 pixels wide and 4MB in size and thus load slowly.
They will display far more quickly and take up less bandwidth if you resize them to about 1000 pixels max dimension and substantially below 1MB.
I'm not complaining, just passing on useful advice that is available elsewhere on the forum

Hmm starting to come through albeit slowly, internet bandwidth again I reckon.
It's because each photo is very large - 6000 × 4000 pixels and about 4MB.
If you want photos to display quickly and not clutter up the webosphere, keep them to about 1000 pixels in the largest dimension and well under 1MB each.
I'm not criticising, just trying to share the good advice that's set out elsewhere on the site

Absolutely fantastic.
Too many excellent details to really single one out but the 'wear' on the headlight bezel is just perfect.

I tend to loose all depth perception with a magnifying glass
Indeed @Mr Mansfield - but a magnifying headset has a lens for each eye so depth perception is kept as normal. They make a huge difference...

Hello and welcome!

This has been a great project to follow.
I can't wait to see how you tackle the wings and engines.
Because you won't be able to stop yourself, will you? 😆 😁 😆

What a thoughtful idea! He/she is lucky to have a friend like you.
I don't have any experience of Herpa kits, but snap-fit models are generally good for beginners. When all's said and done, it's civil and it's KLM so I'd say go for it!

Before you attack it with chemicals, try leaving the assembly in the freezer for a day or so. That should weaken the bond, then a bit of gentle manipulation will often result in a clean separation of the parts.

You're obviously a fast learner - that's all looking very good 👍

Like this. Copy URL (in this case "
https: //i.imgur.com /6pZS9Hk. png" but I've inserted extra spaces to stop the board automatically showing the image) and then paste it into your text without the additional spaces.
And this happens:
Like magic, isn't it 🙃

Excellent. Posted another pic using a different method - visible in post?
No. I just see the URL.
If I post a picture, I just copy the URL of the picture's page then paste that straight into the post. I don't use the 'insert image' or 'insert link' buttons on the 'edit post' window.

The images are now visible but only after I click on them. And the 404 has gone away 😀

That is beautifully made - I love the little look at the interior.

Indeed, spirals
The sponsor was BASF - the audio tape division.
The spirals represent the tape winding onto a spool 🙂
