  1. Is that etch for the UK spec or US aircraft Tony? I'm assuming non-UK as ours were, I think, pretty unique! I bought some Brengun bits for my Italeri C130J (engines I think) - the flaps looked too much for me! Good luck with the faded grey mate! Edge
  2. Could it be shadow from an exhaust glare shield or similar? Seems to be at the same angles as the shadow of the exhaust. Edge
  3. Stupendous! Hope you manage to put it back together. Edge
  4. Lovely build. Reminds me of the very specific 747 roar I used to hear as they passed overhead as I sat stationary on the M25! Edge
  5. Great work - you certainly did better with the Eduard etch that I did! The rockets look fab too. I tried to mask & paint the various rings on mine but failed miserably! Edge
  6. Great job & brilliant tribute to 'Grumpy'. I'm sure his family will be very pleased. Edge
  7. Another great TOT build lesson. One of these kits is on my Christmas list so I'll be avidly taking notes! Edge
  8. Just getting into car modelling and was looking at the Tamiya Mclaren MP4/8 to build as the Donnington car. Wow are they expensive now! Looking forward to following this and 'borrowing' a few tips! Edge
  9. Love that - see a few battered ones in my time! Edge
  10. I have one somewhere & IIRC the reviews said something similar regarding the geodeic structure. I think the reviewer suggested a light sanding or similar treatent. Edge
  11. There's the Trumpeter one.... Edge
  12. I'm another iPad Gen 2 user who has struggled since the last update. I've tried downloading both Firefox & Chrome from the AppStore but neither are compatible with my ancient device. Looks like I know what to put on my Christmas list! Edge
  13. Hi Chris. My original comment was referring to the 3-part engine cowlings being a faff to put together - hadn't realised that there were also some spurious/non-Blenheim lumps & bumps to remove. Apologies for any confusion. Great work Johnny! Edge
  14. Another from the top drawer Bill & what a beast too! Edge
  15. That's a top job on such a tiny subject. Great finish and paintwork. Edge
  16. Great to have you back Edward! It's been a tough old year so far, particularly, I imagine, on your side of the pond where there appear to be huge societal fractures re-opening, not helped by the constant caps-lock tweeting of POTUS. I have 2 kids and I can honestly tell you that things will improve as they get older. Boys, in particular, are a challenge and seem to know just how to push the meltdown button at the most inconsiderate times! Ted is now 12 and still has a tiny attention span and no understanding of how the world around him works. I built him a new desk yesterday (only IKEA) to help & reinforce the message that homework is important and should be planned and completed as early as possible. His response? "Great!! An Airfix desk". Then promptly unpackaged his latest kit into the drawers. So on one hand I am pleased he's rediscovered modelling whilst on the other frustrated that he has ignored the reason I'm £150 out of pocket and have a sore back from wrestling 50kg of particle board into a functioning piece of furniture! All we can do is our best, whilst allowing us some time for ourselves. We need our hobbies and projects to tinker with to give us the headspace we so need. Enjoy the new Spiffire, we expect taka-taka-taka noises as soon as it's remotely aeroplane shaped! Edge
  17. Looks great Tony! I've thought about one of these, but it's the wrong scale for me & pricey when you factor in the kit cost too. Still sorely tempted, mind! Edge
  18. Lovely build & finish. I've a few (ahem) of these put away for another day - hope I can get anywhere near a job like that! Edge
  19. Eduard re-boxed the Hasegawa Typhoons a couple of years ago so I'd be surprised if they were to produce their own kit so soon after. Edge

    Airfix 2021...

That Aki Sea Fury (along with their Firebrand) is a stunning kit. Edge
