  1. Thanks everyone! My photography & choice of camera angles has hidden the worst of my offences (torn decal, thumb print on tail plane, pook masking on fuselage stripe etc) but I'm quite pleased. Anyway - on to something else, probably Airfix's 1/72 Hawk.......
  2. Hi Everyone. After a long time lurking in the shadows and being generally blown away with the standard of modelling seen here, I felt it was time to have a go myself. So here is my 1st attempt at sticking plastic bits together since I was a lad (a long time ago!) This incorporates several things new to me so is a real learning project. For example this is the first time I've attempted: masking using super glue on a model cutting/repositioning parts airbrushing using decal solutions priming & clear coating & probably many others!! I took some inspiration from the article by Mike Grant in the 'Circuits & Bumps' book - although I'm some way from achieving what he has! There are a miriad of mistakes & beginners errors (such as thumb prints in the still tacky paint) but I am treating this as a learning process & finding the same levels of enjoyment in modelling a I did when I was a kid. Comments & helpful hints gratefully received! Edge
  3. I also sent an Email regarding the Hunter T8.M conversion a couple of weeks ago without reply. I'm hoping its just a technical glitch or winter weather affecting communication.
  4. I have one of those tucked away somewhere - just need to remember where!
  5. Just found & bought a Revell HAS6/AEW kit from a well known auction site for £10.
  6. Hi Colin. I thought it a little misleading as there's no image of the platic, but the description, as you rightly say, states kit plus detail parts set! Thanks Harry - I'll keep my eyes peeled for the Revell kit for the AEW version.
  7. IIRC someone here was looking at producing a conversion for the Revell kit to produce an HC.4. Perhaps an accurate AEW. 2 will follow?
  8. Can I add my twopenneth and ask Airfix to give us a B.2 so that we can then hector Ali at A2Zee and Colin at Freightdog to give us more conversions. Oh and some decals would be nice too!
  9. Hi & Happy New Year folks! Spotted whilst browsing HLJ site, listed for January release is a Platz 1/72 Sea King AEW.2. From the box art it appears to be the Cyber Hobby kit and comes with a small etch fret from Eduard. The cost is listed as 3,120y which comes out around £22.
  10. I only saw the pile of Spitfires as I walked past. I was sorely tempted........... I love my wife to bits but if I bought her anything model related (or useful - so no housey type stuff) I'd be out on my ear!!
  11. Hi Dave I was on a similar mission in Leamington today. Spotted the same deal on the same kit in W H Smith.
  12. Another very nice decal sheet Colin. Really wish I could get to Telford this weekend!
  13. Colin, that's even better news. Things are always better late than never! And in this case we've all been waiting so long a few extra months is of no concern!
  14. Hi Colin That is the best news I've heard in ages (progress, not the £70 bit!). I'll certainly be saving the pennies until they're available. G
  15. Having watched 2 Airwaves conversion sets make silly money on fleabay yesterday, I wondered if there was any news on this kit?
  16. Thanks Colin. I'll have to keep some pennies back from the Christmas shopping!
  17. Hi Colin Will the ECM.6 be available via the website (no chance of being at Telford in person!)?
  18. I'll be having one or two off you when they're ready!
  19. Congratulations mate - hope you enjoyed the drive. I'm fortunate enough to work for Toyota and have had the opportunity to drive GT86 on the road and track. It's a real driver's car! Good luck with the build, I'm looking forward to watching this!
  20. Hi Bob Heritage Aviation have a 1/72 Aeroclub Bulldog prop in their 2nd hand section. G
  21. I was near Oxford & saw the same. My thoughts at the time were that it was the Vulcan, but as it was quite a distance away it was difficult. Didn't see anything dangling to suggest under-wing tanks etc.
