I received an Email from Campbell this afternoon apologising for the disappearance of Odds And Ordnance. He explained that he's recovering from a long term health problem & is starting to sort through the company Email inbox & Paypal account. Attached to the Email was a letter explaining some of the issues he's had & a promise to get to grips with the large amount of admin the enforced lay off has caused. Looking slightly further ahead, there's the possibility of re-starting production on at least some of the lines. I, for one, am pleased that Campbell has made the effort to make contact with as many customers as he can and explain what's gone on. He produced a line of resin sets that were pretty much aimed at the glory days of British military jet aviation & I wish him every success for the future.

Beautiful build! We have a memorial to these brave men here in Leamington Spa. Serves as a reminder to bravery I can't begin to understand.- 50 replies

After battling Photobucket on my work PC, hopefully I've finally been able to share my meagre 2014 completions with you. 1st to be finished was the Revell Hunter F.6 with Eduard etch in the cockpit (my 1st attempt with brass). A little fiddly, but a great fitting kit. 2nd, and last, is the Eduard F6F-3 Hellcat ProfiPACK kit built as a FAA Mk.I with Xtradecal decals. Again the etch was fiddly, but perseverance paid off. I also tried weathering this one, another first for me. Looks a bit over the top, so hope to refine my skills here, as well as with the airbrush! Thanks for looking & comments/gentle criticism welcome!

Another follower here Bill. Stunning work which I'll learn a huge amount from. -
The Italeri Sunderland is much better detailed, where the Airfix kit has many once fashionable moveable parts (turrets etc) which can make it seem more toy like. The only Warwick kit that I'm aware of is a vacform one from Contrail (I think), they occasionally pop up on well known auction sites. From memory there's also a separate set that allows you to build a 2nd model, combining bits left over from the 1st.

Hi Rivers I have a few Coastal Command aircraft kits in 1/72 (from your list I've assumed that's the scale you'll also choose?). For the Hudson there's the Italeri/MPM kit which to all intents & purposes are the same, but each manufacturer has released different versions. Halifax I have the Revell new(ish) release, which includes parts for the GR.II. I also have the Freightdog set to improve some of the kit's inaccuracies. On the Liberator there's a choice between the Academy & Hasegawa kits. I think the Hasegawa are more detailed but need slightly more skill to assemble. There's an absolute ton of resin/etch available to upgrade either! For the B17 I only have the Academy B17E kit, although I believe Revell have released similar (possibly earlier marks) under their label The Whitley is far more exciting! There's the ancient Frog moulding or the tricky Fly kit. Alternatively wait & see what Airfix release in 2015! There are lots of Wellington kits available, covering most popular marks. I believe the Trumpeter kits are the most accurate & easier to assemble. As far as decals go there are fewer choices, but check out some of the Xtradecal releases from Hannants - quite a few choices there, but most of the above come with Coastal Command options. Best of luck!

Merry Christmas Bill & here's wishing you a fighting, c free 2015. -
I'd like them to re-release their excellent 1/72 Hunters!
-
They were incredibly helpful when I discovered a broken canopy in an Albacore bought on eBay. Sure they'll do all they can for you too.

What a great Christmas present eh?!! Looks as if Airfix are listening.

I'm also interested in the ASR version & so would happily fork out for some resin dinghy containers. I'd also love someone to produce a resin lifeboat that I could hang under a Hudson or Lancaster. I did have the Hasegawa Lancaster ASR but sold it a while back. Stupid Boy!

Beautiful work, Bob. Sheer artistry!

Simply fabulous Tom. I've been watching your vacform monsters come together in complete awe!

1/48 - Westland Wessex HAS.1 (new variant) by Italeri - released
Edge replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
I'm hoping so! I only PM'd Colin to make sure he knew that at least 1 person would be buying a few sets, especially if they come with as many decal options as his Whirlwind ones!- 61 replies

Lovely work Johnners. Particularly like the Tripe, but I'd be happy to have any on my shelf! -
Nice collection Mish & far better than my meagre total of.......1. Love the Hawk. And the Lightning. Oh & the Vampire & Tomahawk are cool too. Ah what the hell, they're all fab!

1/48 - Westland Wessex HAS.1 (new variant) by Italeri - released
Edge replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
Hi Grizzly. Pinged Colin a PM around 6 weeks ago as a follow up to a brief conversation we'd had last year about an early Wessex conversion. I didn't get a response, but with Ali at A2Zee closing up which I assumed caused Colin some additional stress I'm not too worried. As I said to him last year, anything I buy will go into the 'build it one day' pile so I'm not in a great rush!- 61 replies

This is quite an interesting subject as quite a few members here seem to have a 'thing' for FAA subjects & whilst there's quite a lot of kits & bits out there for RAF airfield eqiuipment, there's surprisingly little for the RN. Save for the, what appear to be lovely, F4 Models deck tractors which I covet! Maybe there's a wealth of knowledge out ther that's never been tapped?

Avro Manchester L7463 - Planet / Revell Lovechild 1/72
Edge replied to woody37's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
What an absolutely beautiful build. Your painting & weathering are spot on, bringing it to life. -
Albacore Mk.I has been in the 'Future Release' list for ages & Mk.II fetching huge money when & wherever they appear. Barracuda in all it's glorious variations would be a welcome return/addition too.
