After market bomb loads for 1/72 RAF Aircraft.

I'm sure I've seen an old Led Sled kit which included a sea mine on a trolley. May be worth an EBay search? -

Hi Everyone I watched a 1/72 AD-4W resin conversion for the Hasegawa Skyraider AD-6 kit go for an astonishing £137 (plus £2 postage!) on a well known auction site yesterday. Firstly, having one gathering dust on a shelf, I'm pleased to have purchased mine before the prices went stratospherical. Secondly, it also got me pondering about the demand for such a conversion. The high price, driven by 12 bids from a low staring price would indicate that there is a fairly high demand for it, and Fleet Air Arm subjects are usually well received. Granted, the Hasegawa kit isn't readily available at present & usually commands a high retail price, but they can usually be found second hand if you're prepared to look. Perhaps one of our aftermarket resin meisters is looking at the possibility of a new set? TTFN

I live fairly close (drove past twice today in fact) and have visited numerous times. I've always found everyone there to be helpful, polite & genuinely enthusiastic. Perhaps whatever it you're looking to reference belongs to one of their members (as I'm pretty sure some of the exhibits do) who would need to give you permission. They do have a 'contact' page on their website: http://www.midlandairmuseum.co.uk/contact.php which may help?

Hi Peter. Hope you don't mind another watcher? Thanks for the Luckymodel tip, I've just ordered the same kit from them. Good luck with the build! -

Hi Greame I'm no expert but I thing ASR3 and GR3 Lancasters were essentially the same aircraft. From memory they were converted from 'standard' Bomber Command aircraft & had additional windows in the rear fuselage & a camera/flash below the rear turret. I'm sure there'll be an expert along to put us right!

Hi Patrik. I have a couple of these kits put away until my skills improve enough to take them on. This may well take a very, very long time! I'm going to watch your build with great interest. -

She looks beautiful WAFU. -
Very nice Steve, just finished the same kit in the same colours. You're spot on about the cockpit, but I wasn't too fussed about the panel lines!

Wow thanks chaps. Seems there's far more to Future/Klear than I ever imagined! I'll give the dunk, kitchen towel & cover a go tomorrow.

Hi all. Apologies for starting this here rather than in Tips but I can't start a topic there. I'm plodding through the new Airfix Defiant and am at the canopy & turret stage. Having heard lots about giving the glazing a 'bath in Klear' I wondered if someone could describe the process? Is it as simple as submerging the clear parts in Klear for a period of time before whipping them out? If so how long should they be left to soak? How do you 'dry off' the excess? Can I then use canopy masks without harming the layer of Klear? Sorry to sound so dim by asking so many questions! ps I have a store of the old style Klear, not the newer Pledge variety. Thanks.

Wot he said - especially the Fleet Air Arm suggestions!

Hi Xenol. Last time I checked there was no acrylic (xtracrylics) RN helicopter drab, only enamel (xtracolour). Good luck with your build.
