About Me

Have built scale models since I was 8 (means early 1950s). I still remember an enormous Lincoln B-17, almost bigger than I. Then a drop out during high school and university years, but when I got my first post.grad scholarship I was in need of a hobby, and returned. 1st model a Frog FW190.

After moving in the late 1980s, and being occupied with scholarly work, not much time left for kit bashing. Oldest son "appropriated" my air gun and compressor (he is much better than I will ever be so OK). But I started collecting my favorite subject in my favorite scale, 1:48 Spitfires/Seafires (I also have a selection in 1:32, including Tamiya's Mk.IXc as a reference; and about a hundred 1:72). Have been collecting Spitfires for more than 20 years. And created my private book about it (only in Danish and not for display--copyright and all that). Now I have between 70 and 80 kits waiting, probably +100 resin sets (including Sutherland's Cooper details), and decals for more than a 1000 planes. So it is a hobby within a hobby. But when I retire in a year, I definitely plan to get along with the project of producing every single variant, including all the Mk.I foto-plandes (A-G etc.).

In the meanwhile I have relaxed painting small soldiers 1:72 (Napoleonics) and have been quite busy at the HÄT forum.

Berufsmässig, I am a professor of Theology (Old Testament/ANE) at the University of Copenhagen. I has been a member of the Danish Home Guard since 1977 (most of the time as CO), and was charing its national council in the last five years of my active membership.

I do not have a personal homepage, but something can be found as Wikipedia has an article.

Yours Truly

PS: Why Spitfires: Look at it flying, it is a ballerina floating in the air, sitting there as confortably as in an arm chair. But like real ballerinas she has her own will and a lot of temper. Never was there such a fitting name.
