extremely bad news for my part. I've been wanting one for ages, but it is in resin and absolutely no use to me as I don't use resin

Unfortunately I don't think this'll be completed in time. Just had to work on a magazine article and kids home from school. So sad

Has anyone in the UK purchased the Quinta 3D decals from their Ebay store.?
I've very reluctant to buy from international sellers and even more with the pandemic

looks awesome and sinister.

Thanks for having me here Rob.
So, some updated on the build here,
Using the Eduard interior set I've added detail to the cockpit and pretty much now completed the interior excluding the rear gunner's seat and gun.

That is absolutely astounding there.
Stunning, just stunning
I bow down to your skill levels because that is one of the best I've been, of any kit, not just the Walrus

Hi everyone
I've not taken part in a group build for sometime and I've just started a kit today. The old Revell/Monogram Pro Modeler 1/48 SB2C-4 Helldiver.
I've just seen this GB and it falls right in to the category, so I'm going to share it with everyone here
So far today I've painted the interior of the fuselages and the wheel bays for the undercarriage. I do need to highlight the interior green as it is a little dark at the moment.
I picked the kit up off someone on the sell/buy forums here but unfortunately the etched fret was missing, which included the dive brakes. But I've able to replace those with the eduard etched set.
The eduard set required me to cut a good chunk off the wings in order to be placed in place. It is the first time i've ever had to perform such drastic surgery to a kit.
I'll keep posting as I go

Thanks for the review Julien. One kit on my list to get.
Where did you buy it? Or was it sent through as a sample?

My first must have for 2020.
Not a Kitty Hawk fan but one of my favourite non British aircraft.

I'm confused here.
Didn't these toolings get sold to kinetic as they couldn't complete the project

That is an extremely poor line up from Revell.
I mean it is good to see the Tornado GR4 being re-issued and I heard from a rep that they were planning to bring the GR4 back, just didn't say it was in a new box with alternative decals. I just thought it was going to be a restock.
I'm waiting to see what other brands have coming out, but seen nothing stunning announced by any brand yet bar the Airfix Vulcan

I take it that Hannants were just having a bad day as they list a Revell EF-111A kit for release in April 20 as 1:48 I saw that before I saw this thread and assumed they were reboxing the Academy kit, especially as I'd seen Caracal decals are soon to release a new sheet for the EF-111A in 1:48 (scroll to near the bottom of the page). Suppose £19.99 is a tad cheap for a 1:48 Raven when you look at the price of the recent-ish Revell Tornado and Phantom kits.
When you can grab the insanely detailed hobby boss kit for less that £30 I don't see the appeal, but to others there might be

Nice, I've got this in the stash myself. Though i'm going for a eggplant grey version

First of all. A happy new year to everyone on britmodeller, I hope you all have a fantastic year.
But with a new year comes a fresh start, What projects do you all have planned for the new year?
-
I hope everyone had a good Xmas.
I'm sharing one of my builds from 2019 with you all.
This is the Eduard Hawker Tempest MK.V Series 2 kit in 1/48 Scale.
Kit was painted using Tamiya acrylics and featured in an issue of SAMI magazine, photography is not one of my strengths and still learning

1/35 TOPOL ! that will be massive!
The zvezda kit is a foot long in 1/72 scale. so that will be massive.
The vehicle is 22.7 metres long and in 1/35 scale would put at approx 64cm in my rough calculation
-
The long discontinued Revell Arado 196 A-3 Twin float version might possible be reissued soon.
Eduard are re-issuing the etched for the kit in their February releases, They surely wouldn't re-issue all the etched for a hard to source discontinued kit if there was not a re-issue planned

I found these on social media from someones Telford purchase

This is very similar situation for the Avro York and Argosy that it tales a long time for an sprues, reviews or kit part photos to surface. Ultimately this is what would make or break my purchase
-
There must have been a few of these kits sold but where on earth can we find pictures or reviews for the kit.
Searched online and found nothing. It's like the kit has a none disclosure agreement with online photos

I purchased the low-viz VC10 XV107 from Didier at Telford, and have been comparing against references, including images of XV107.
While there is more work to be done to check everything, I am very pleased with the overall outline of wing, fuselage, fin and tail, and the washout of the wings. I am encouraged that such subtle features as the non standard spacing of the rear window on the port side has been faithfully captured.
Observations to date:
- The wing-body fairing seems to come a little too far forward and will need to be cut back - no more than 0.5cm
- The fin fillet leading edge is not sharp enough
- The nib between the engine exhaust seems a little shallow
- The characteristic twist in the engine pylons needs care to introduce - flat as moulded but within scope of bending the plastic
- The windscreen looks odd because the central panel is twice as wide as it should be - easy to cut but may have other implications on the nose shape. I also think the cockpit transparency needs to be tilted back a bit, but this requires assembly to test.
- Usual challenge of cabin window alignment
- Fin vortex generators need to be added
On the whole - looks pretty good.
Any chance we can see some photos of the kit, want to see the part break down and quality of the parts
