  3. Pure class, just an amazing looking build, will be getting tmmi when out to see more
  4. That's an awesome build, I'ld love to have the skills to pull of that winter camo, Going to have to try your method for sure
  5. that'll be interesting to see this finished in that decal scheme, keeping an eye on this, looks good so far
  6. just forked out a meaty £125 for the trumpy Intruder. I must say it looking amazing, so watching your build with interest to see how good it builds , You have done some cracking work so far
  7. Hi everyone, currently working on the Italeri 1/48 hurricane Mk.1 I am a little disappointed with the fit of the kit tbh, the engine cover is a pain along with the exhausts. I'ld prefer the engine to be optional and for an exposed engine option the modeller to have to remove the engine panels manually. Other than this the kit is ok. This is the chosen subject I'm using Tamiya and xtracrylix paints, Xtracrylix seemed to be the only manufacturer I could find that produced Azure Blue, but it does come out extremely bright so my model will need a tone down. Unfortunately I didn't take any snap shots of the beginning of the build but I've got these 2 snaps just sealed the decals in with the kits 2nd gloss coat and about to start some weathering, see if we can brighten down that blue.
  8. Got one of these in the stash. This one looks so good tempted to get it out. Awesome job
  9. watching this one with some interest. Fantastic aircraft and the model is coming on nicely. Keep it up
  10. Awesome build and a nice touch to go with it.
  11. I've just seen the new revell ju 88 a-4 kit in 1/32 is now in stock, I held of purchasing the original released in the A-1 version kit as my aim was to build a north Africa based scheme kit, Although the decals provided do offer a Mediterranean based machine, its in a ridiculous style of scheme with those squiggly lines all over the underneath and way beyond my skill levels. My aim was to build something with a more simple paint scheme. http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/AIMS3208 Aims do a Libya based machine but the version is a D-1, now my understanding is a D-1 is essentially the a-4 airframe, but that's all my based understanding, Wikipedia confirm my thoughts, but if there is any German aircraft gurus out there that could assist me, I'd be extremely grateful. thanks
  12. Imperial is mostly r/c stuff, they do keep some plastic kits but they are all pretty much 2nd hand and over priced I found . T7 models is a new shop only just opened this month.
  13. There is usually actively most days at Culdrose, you should at least get to see some of the choppers. September you should be fine. As for model shops, you best bet is T7 models in Truro. They are the only specialist kit retailer in the county. Hasegawa, airfix revell trumpeter etc. http://www.t7models.com/ There is two toy masters with good stock in Truro and hayle. Just the revell and airfix stuff with these. Trago mills in liskard on the A38 also stocks revell and airfix at discounted prices so worth checking them out. They also have a good supply of books too. Hope this helps
  14. Being a local to Culdrose is a fantastic experience, done to tour a few times myself as well as the annual air day. Those sea kings and merlins are always around the bay down at penzance & marazion. Also if you interested to know, hasegawa just released a kit of those Sea King SAR Mk5's, the actual Culdrose based sea king, which I find fantastic. 1/48 scale mind you, its a beast. While you down this way, if curious I can also point you in the right direction for any model shops if required. Sounds like you had a fantastic day out.
  15. Hi everyone Novice modeller here, I've recently rekindled my childhood and started building kits again after a long absence and after completing my first 2 kits, which are available to see, I've decided that I'd like to try something I've not done before. I've recently purchased a hasegawa P-40k in 1/32 scale and aiming to build this as a desert (north Africa) version. I know some aircraft paintwork would get beaten to bits really but tbh I don't know where to start. So I'm turning to the britmodeller community for tips
  16. So this the trumpeter kit, how did it build? It's really a stunning modeller. Makes me want to attempt to build one
  17. Thanks for you comments so far everyone, and keith, I've taken your advise for the wingtip lights, thank you
  18. I just love this aircraft, and you have done a fantastic job. And now you've made me want to make one too
  19. Hi everyone, This is my 2nd build I've posted on the forums, just finished it today. I decided to try my luck at weathering as I've not really gone down that route before, was aiming to get a dirty looking bird, and she does look dirty, maybe too much. This was also my first attempt at doing exhaust weathering, which I think kind of looks ok, I'm kind of a beginner/novice so any comments would be awesome.
  20. Hi peeps, I quite fancy building a good F-15E strike eagle. Which kit would u recommend, scale no issue
