  1. To be honest, since it was German and Russian aircraft you must have the ghost of an old US air force veteran in the house still hell-bent on downing more enemy aircraft Yeah, this is possibly the more likely culprit
  2. Martin at T7 models is the only specialised model kit retailer http://www.t7models.com/ everything from airfix, revel Tamiya trumpeter ho boss and more There is also a toymaster in truro with a good stock of revel kits, apart from the others mentioned above
  3. So in a sence the tail should have been dark earth over dark green? Too late for me but then again I maybe should have researched the kit more in depth. As I'm more novice i'ld have expected the manufacture to have go it right but as I'm starting to learn is not the case. Still I will accept that I'm happy with what I've build and I will thank everyone for the comments received
  4. Hi peeps I'm looking for a tip on interplane rigging, or wiring on bi-planes etc and other aircraft. I'm mainly looking for ways of attaching it to the respective model I've used superglue in the past but I've heard of there possibly being etched parts you can tie/glue the fishing line/thread to so you can save placing glue on the painted surface. I'm thinking of starting my next kit soon and this would be the hobby boss an-2 colt and hobby boss provided no materials or even instructions on how to attach the inter plane rigging to the aircraft. So I'm just looking for a little help for a novice.
  5. This will be my first Kittyhawk kit without shadow of a doubt, single seater version for certain though
  6. Anyone know if the Plymouth store is still open, planning to go there this weekend
  7. that is looking AWESOME, now time to buy one myself and then wait for divorce papers
  8. This is my Italeri 1/48 Hurricane MK.1 of RAF No.69 Squadron based in Malta The kit to be honest is not great, and the engine cowlings fit is very poor, I also struggled to hide this centre seem on the forward fuselage. I also lost an unfortunate part to the Carpet monster which devoured it, but for £8 for a replacement from Italeri I decided I'd go without it. In the end I am happy with the result, maybe a little too much weathering, but it looks good to me Feel free to pass judgement peeps
  9. read the review in tmmi and all I can say is
  10. What a great project, the kit alone is fantastic. Waiting to see the finish
  11. Those the trumpy provided decals, personally I never use them and always go aftermarket when possible. The build is going fantastic. Also, I've got the kit in the stash and may well make to the workshop soon, may I ask which paint you have used for the fuselage colour?
  12. captured spitfire. interesting idea The build is great though, looking forward to seeing the completed model
  13. Coming on nicely, tempted to get one of these myself, looking forward to seeing the finished article
  14. That is coming on nicely, looks fantastic. I heard some bad press about the instruction manual being quite small and hard to read
  15. Hi everyone, I'm looking for a little help with weathering tips with washes and filters. I'm trolling the internet at the moment but does anyone have any guides they'd recommend or any tips, my last kit in my eyes became a little disaster and i'm wanting to improve on it. I basically thinned down some oil paint, brushed it over the kit and then wiped it away with a dam cloth and the black/dark streaks left on the kit do not really look like anything else I've seen in reviews and magazines to compare with, they actually looked quite bad.
  16. I'm usually an aircraft modeller but I've always been tempted by military rail kits, might be worth my first dip into this area as it looks fantastic
  17. Markjames, can't see the photos buddy, did you not upload them in error
  18. looks good and looks like a hellcat, I also like the weathering. A lot of people knock down the kit stating its incorrect, but I think it looks fantastic, good work
