We need a new tooling of an Avro Shackleton
thepureness replied to thepureness's topic in Aircraft Cold War
After this, i've been eyeing up a couple of Revell examples on ebay and might try one more to get a result -
My grandfather flew on Shackletons for pretty much all his RAF career, My love for aircraft and most of all the Shack have been passed down to me from him. What your have produced there has almost brought a tear to my eye, such a beautiful master piece of a stunning aircraft that is ignored by mainstream manufacturers. Thank you

Little update here everyone. Gloss coat is on, and Alex, your comment on the decals, they seem fine no issues yet. Part way through the decals now.

I said Shackleton earlier but I feel I'll give a more detailed list of what I would like to see. 1/72: I've said it so many times that a new tooled Shackleton is one of the most overdue releases, serving from 1951 to 1991 one of the logest serving aircraft in the RAF and was imported to south Africa. I think its is a no brainer. I would also like Airfix to continue with 1/72 with a new tooled Beaufighter series, although I probably wouldn't purchase one, I know for sure there is a market. I also think a British phantom series would be welcomed with a new tooled kit. 1/48: On the helicopter front a Gazelle would be most welcome, yet again there is the old tooled fujimi kit, so something modern there would be ideal. We also do not have a sa330 puma in 1/48 scale which really does need a kit on the market. 1/48 swift, Not for me personally but I do believe it would be hugely popular with a lot of people. Airfix could do with having a good look at a buccaneer, there older tool although not very old compaired to most have fuselage issues which would be worth correcting or a new kit altogether, this could also go with 1/72 aswell. I would have said a typhoon in 1/48 scale, but looks like Italeri got there first, sea hornet and whirlwind trumpeter now have covered, but there vamp was so bad I think Airfix could do with upping there 1/72 option to 1/48. 1/24 scale, I'm going to throw something in that might surprise a few. I wanted to bump this up a little, but also get others opinions, why do you think no ones actually given us a new tool of this aircraft yet, I'm sure there is a massive demand -
Shackleton mk1, mk2 and mk3 1/72 I just want a Shackleton

coming on nicely there, waiting for the final result

Hot Shots - Spitfire Mk.1 - OOB
thepureness replied to snapper_city's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Of course Rick. Below is an image of the break in the fuselage as you can see, its quite a a large amount of damage and is clearly caused by the poor packaging, very similar to Revell boxes. Now by just using the simple method of using clear tape I was not only able to attach the broken parts together but it also resulted in a gloss finish, only issue was the decals were already applied to the kit by the manufacturer, here is the kit now -

Snapper, I have to say amazing build and review of the kit. I've been so impressed I decided to purchase one myself, only down fall was the fuselage was broken in 2 when I opened the packaging, so I bough a 2nd. If any of the What if modellers are around, a Zwilling might look interesting -
According to an italeri rep, The UK make up for over 50% of their market, So my guess is this is going to be 1/48 scale to get use drooling and for those that can't fit a 1/24 kit in the house

Hi peeps, planing to build an A-6 and looking at the kits available. Going to go for 1/72 for the moment and I understand there is 3 options. The italeri/revell/tamiya kit, then the fujimi and last hasegawa. Looked at some builds online but not many compairing the kits to each other. Which is the best option

Bomber Command 1939 - 1945 Group Build
thepureness replied to AnonymousDFB1's topic in Future Group Build Archives
Picked up a 1/72 wellington mk III today, certain trumpeter kits are becoming a little harder to get hold of so, thought I'll plan ahead. I've also considering a 1/72 Lancaster, I've got a thing for a half naked woman on the nose of an aircraft, and there are some nice examples with the Lancasters -
D-Day 70th Anniversary Group Build
thepureness replied to AnonymousDFB1's topic in Future Group Build Archives
one thing that intimidates me is invasion strips, this seems a good time to go for it -
Update for this one, Undercarriage and flaps on, Quite a lot of weight needed inside this one, think i have around 30 air-gun pellets stuffed in every nook and cranny around the cockpit. But I succeeded, its not a tail sitter. I do have to say, i'm quite disapointed with the fit of the kit overall, it does require some work. Anyway here are a few pictures.

Yeah, think i'll got for one, can put it in the less than a tenner group build

Getting closer to the end, hope to have all painting and decals all done by the end of the week end, then all thats needed are the replacement canopy parts from revell which are on their way Will upload some images shortly

You can see the raised panel lines on the built kit Dam, would have been top of the " to buy list " if it was a new tool Academy recently re-boxed a few Italeri kits, I know they did the 1/48 Wessex. There currently seems to be a partnership between the 2 manufacturers at the moment, releasing each others kits under their own name.

Was checking out this seller before and thought to myself, can he accually do that.
-
Thinking about buying this kit, think its worth £10?
-
I putting my bets that Italeri might be the ones to release a Shackleton, after the Stirling and Sunderland. I'm hoping that is the surprise
-
I think they might try to surprises us with something new too, that we would not expect
-
Great news this one, 1/72 was too small for this chopper for me but 1/48 is perfect. looking forward to this one

1/48 - Northrop P-61A/B/C Black Widow by Hobby Boss - released
thepureness replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
Scaled down version of the 1/32 kit I bet, but what I don't get is why. Great wall hobby have just released a stonking kit, and they listen to critics and corrected errors. In my mind, we don't need another 1/48 P-61- 33 replies

I'm one of those, if it looks like a ....... then it is a ....... I'm thankful that a mainstream manufacturer is willing to attempt this kit, and tbh at least they are adventurous, compare their new releases this year to Revell's. Yes Airfix are going to get the most of my cash this year, but I'll buy one of these, and see how it goes, I'm a fan of trumpeter and sometimes they do get it right. so here is hoping
