  1. The legendary Arkady72 with another amazing model, just wow I've got this in the stash, if mine was anywhere close to this i'd be made for life
  2. Avro Shackleton, must get an avro shackleton
  3. I think I do have the correct wings, this is a close up of the wing tips on this kit
  4. Its the Hasegawa kit for sure http://italeri.com/scheda.asp?idProdotto=2348
  5. Been looking forward to this group build since its been confirmed and this is my chosen kit. The Hobbyboss F4U has been on my to do list for a while now and after picking this one up for a bargin £16.99 (discounted from £29.99) from my local model shop T7 models I had to enter this one into this GB. While I've got a couple of projects on the go at the moment, I hope to get this one finished in good time.
  6. I was considering this one for my build, still have it in the stash so will keep an eye on this, see how it develops
  7. Hobby boss Corsair can look good then without the extras. Must say this is legendary work here, members of britmodeller will speak of this build for years to come,
  8. ok, I've had some progress, quite enjoying the kit at the moment. Got all the fuselage and wings together, quite impressed with the design of the wing inserts on the kit. Filling all done along with some Mr Surfacer 500 in most of the areas. Have a few small parts to attach then it will be on with the paint. Plan the get the aluminium on Good Friday then the Camo on over the weekend.
  9. I would like to add something to this older thread regarding Canopies. Canopy seams, lines straight down the middle, Why is that, Hasegawa 1/72 harriers, canopy seams, Airfix harriers no seams
  10. I may have been a little overcritical here on this, its fair to say, canopy seems irritate me
  11. Italeri canopy, not going to get CAD drawnings out for this but to me, if it looks like a ..... then it is a ....., how can one company make a canopy without a seem and the other can't?
  12. I personally prefer the Italeri version, the only down fall to the fit is it is their F-18F kit with additional underwing stores for the Growler Hasegawa's kit is the same. But falls down on the Clear parts for me, seams down canopies with the technology manufactures available have is inexcusable, especially with the retail price of Hasegawa's kits in the UK , but overall fit and detail is a little better.
  13. http://www.trumpeter-china.com/a/en/product/fly/1_48_Series/2014/0403/2622.html Kits up on trumpeters website now, with all pictures
  14. Thanks for the tips everyone, I checked out a hunter cockpit video as a reference on YouTube, but did miss that ejection seat detail. In my defense, still learning as a modeler so its all experience, still I hope the kits turns out ok
  15. So cockpit finished and I have to say with my experience in modelling, which is limited then I have to say, i'm extremely happy
  16. Ok so on with the build, Since i'm building this completely OOB with no aftermarket parts I started on the ejection seat, needs a couple of decals and a matt cote but coming on ok
  17. Thanks to some excellent customer service from T7 models, whom sent me the missing parts this can get back on track. Thanks Martin
  18. And to my shock, an entire spure tree is missing!! Seriously!!
  19. I've had a few start stop projects this year with my only finished kit being a Gannet T.5 for the training types group build. After some doubt about my local model show not going ahead this year I was unsure if I should start something to enter into the competition. After receiving some Welcome news from my local model shop (T7 Models down in Cornwall) I can now go head and build something for this years show. So a deadline of August for this one I've been spending the past 2 weeks looking for something to enter and then on the shelf of the model shop it was there looking straight at me, and you have to love the box art for this one. Revell's re-release of their excellent 1/32 Hunter FGA.9. One thing that put me off before on previous releases was the fact of surgery on the decals for the under wing squadron markings around the undercarriage bay. Revell have now finally assisted with pre-cut decals for this. Here are a few pictures, this is going on the bench today.
  20. Unfortunately after a few disasters on my current build for this GB I've since place it back in the to do pile and decided to enter this little one instead. The Academy 1/72 AH-64A Apache, which cost me a little over a fiver
  21. I must say Airfix must now have the best box art on the market now, they are dam awesome
  22. looking at the signs the it does pint to some kind of mid air break up. My parents visit Malaysia every xmas and fly Malaysian airlines. There was suspicion evolving around an Italian and Austrian nationals whom had their passports stolen, so i really hope there is nothing sinister involved Lets hope there are survivors, and RIP the lost
  23. I added an Avro Shackleton new tool to the list of idea, I hope they publish it
