  2. Ok people I'm going to start of with listing 6 kits that we can look at, focusing on price that Jadlam could do them for and kits that have been suggested, i'll run this for a few days before putting a vote on the kit we choose. Any more ideas please comment My examples 1. Airfix 1/72 Junkers JU87B2/R2 (£11.95 before discount) 2. Revell 1/72 Hawker Hunter 100 years of service edition (£17.95 before discount) 3. Tamiya 1/48 Messerscmitt BF-109 G6 (£28 after discount, Russ has already priced this up) 4. Airfix 1/72 Mosquito kit number A03019 (£11.95 before discount) 5. Tamiya 1/72 IL-2 Stormovik (£21.95 Before discount) 6. Revell 1/48 Mosquito MK-IV (£22.74 Before Discount) Options other members have given 1. 3. Ok, what I'm going to do is in order to get something of a theme. The subject will be a 1/72 or 1/48 aircraft with the top price being £25 maximum. What I would like us to do first is nominate an aircraft, then we'll take a selection of kits that we can run with and vote.
  4. Hi everyone I've been in contact with Enzo and one of our previous sponsors back in the 2016 MTO GB Jadlam racing models, you will remember the huge donation of kits for prizes, Russ at Jadlam contacted me the other day with the experience of the GB being so good he wanted to get involved again in sponsoring GBs on britmodeller again. Speaking with what they would like to arrange here is a dedicated build GB on a certain kit. The example we used was the new 1/48 Tamiya BF 109 G6 but the purpose of this post is to look at different alternatives and potentially vote on which kit is built. What Russ and the Jadlam team wanted to do was see a model contest where everyone has a clean slate and modellers of all levels of skill are working on the same base kit, no aftermarket can be used but scratch building is permitted. Russ was very keen to get involved in the GB by doing a couple of things, the first being a special price for the kit we choose (potentially as low as trade plus post) and prize/s He would have to stock the kit in question, they stock Airfix, Revell, Italeri, Zvezda, Tamiya and cyber hobby Enzo and the admins have given special permission to include this in 2018 GB calendar should we get the minimum of 20 people taking part and dates are TBC What I would like to do now is get the names of everyone that would like to take part first and also members giving open ideas on which kit we use. OK, further updates to the GB, This will take place for six weeks from the 11th of August to the 22nd of September. As for rules, these are below. 1. The only kit that can be built is the Airfix P-51D in 1/72 scale in any of the boxings either re-issued or previous boxings (The newly tooled kit from 2012) 2. All aftermarket parts, decals and scratch build can be used, the purpose of the GB is to see how modellers of different skills can tackle the same kit. 3. Members that would like to take part can purchase the kit with a 10% discount from the Sponsor www.Jadlamracingmodels.com using the discount code A55107 https://www.jadlamracingmodels.com/airfix-a55107-mustang-p51-d-starter-size-1-72-aircraft-model-kit/ 4. More to follow updated list of members that put their names down (members with a "kit required" message next to their name means they require the kit and will grab theirs of Jadlam) 1. Thepureness (kit Required) 2. LostCosmonauts 3. Avereda (kit required) 4. Col 5. Black Knight (kit required) 6. Robert Stuart (kit Required) 7. Nimrod54 (kit required) 8. Ratch (kit required) 9 . 5. Hi everyone Not heard from Enzo but if any of the future group build hosts are able to get hold of me that might be interested. I've got the potential of a sponsor looking to get involved in a group build. They have previously sponsored a GB I co-hosted and looking at options. Their preference is a Single type GB but will not eliminate a Themed GB
  6. Thank you, the Hataka paint range is very spot on with the colours Thank You I don't think the war load is 100% but I just used everything in the box and attached it all.
  7. please send me to your SU-35 work in progress please
  8. Good afternoon everyone. Some of you may have seen my updates of my build of the Italeri Su-34 in 1/72. Pleased to say that the kit is now finished. The kit went together rather well and is all oob. The main downfall for the kit is the fact the kit was produced before we had better access to Russian aircraft and as a result there are a few glaring errors, this reissue of the kit just really provides an up to date decal sheet, when compared to previous issues. The parts also require some clean up due to the injection pins in some rather odd locations. All painted using the hakata red line su-34 paint set. For those that haven't use Hataka before. This build was a test build for me to see how these paints settled as my plan is to tackle the hobby boss 1/48 Su-34. So I needed to find out the psi required on the airbrush and what ratio paint to thinner was required, as this was my first time with them. I recommend using their own thinners and thin 75% paint to 25% thinners, spray at low pressure and use a primer. Great results and i will definitely use them again. Give me your opinions please.
  9. Hi peeps This is my quick build of the Fujimi 1/72 Mig 21MF (Corrected SMT). I decided to look at my stash and build the kit that had been in it the longest and this was it. Built in 8 days using Tamiya acrylics.
  10. Good luck with this, really standing out I sure some might agree with me, but in my opinion this is the best plastic kit ever produced and your doing very well with it
  11. good solid job with the airbrush. I started by just practicing on cheap kits until I got the mix right, with brands of paint, thinning the paint to the best levels and finding a compatible varnishes. As builds got more complex, the better my skills and judgement became and so will yours nice work one thing to recommend, I see your using Tamiya paint, a good varnish I use is X-22 clear for gloss, X-35 for semi gloss finish and XF-86 for matt thinned 50/50 with tamiya thinners for the airbrush
  12. surely those decals have yellowed beyond use. build looks great though
  13. Hi everyone I've not posted many builds as of yet as most of my builds all tend to be kit reviews for SAMI. Below is images of my Airfix 1/72 Whitley VII of coastal command. After market etched interior, exterior and aerials from eduard. I did make a very notice error with the decals by following airfix's decal call out, which was wrong and as a result a decal is misplaced compared to the real aircraft. https://photos.app.goo.gl/IY1e64KScs4d4F8h1 https://photos.app.goo.gl/f80iruBtvbxKCqAv2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/BuqoZAEeGHWJFwQ82 https://photos.app.goo.gl/pPJgAGmx1Aw9PvMJ2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/RdA37no0VMuaLTrm2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/weLhZGD1jpxcb4C22
  14. Has anyone seen to J-15 in the Uk market yet?
  15. ok thanks Julien I'll get some ordered. been watching some tutorials and looks like this is my best option
  16. I heard bad things about Hataka, did they improve their paints because i read about nightmares on their first release
  17. Hey peeps I'm trying to solve a little issue around this modern Russian air force colour of eggplant grey. I've check a few photos of aircraft and there seems to be different example, some seem a very dark purple, to some that look just dark grey. I know there are a couple of brands of paint out there like akan and mr paint, but I can only really use acrylics due to young children in the house so don't want to be stinking the place with lacquer paint and I've never used akan paints before. I'm testing out mixing some tamiya colours as that is my preferred brand. Any open ideas peeps
  18. amazing, have the kit at home. How do you take such fantastic photos?
