Kinetic`s new F/A-18A+ Hornet
thepureness replied to mathy's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
What paint brand and colour did you use? -
Hi Peeps The Mustang kit is £9 including UK postage. I know it is not much of a discount but for a £10 kit and post free its not too bad a deal. What I need now is a commitment from members who would like to purchase the kit off jadlam. Please comment below and I can add you to the list. Anyone that already has the kit or will source locally please add your name down too.

So people the votes are in and the results are below, but there is a little hitch. Results are as follows Airfix 1/72 Spitfire I Votes 7 Airfix 1/72 P-51D Mustang votes 20 Airfix 1/72 Hawker Typhoon Mk1 Votes 17 Airfix 1/72 Ju-87 Stuka Votes 14 Revell 1/72 Hunter Votes 11 Tamiya 1/48 Bf109G Votes 8 I've been waiting for Russ at Jadlam to get back off holiday to give me the break down on prices. Airfix 1/72 Spitfire - Looking at A02017a or A02102 - £8.50 each delivered. Airfix 1/72 Mustang - A01004a - out of stock with no expected date at the moment. Airfix 1/72 Typhoon - A02041 - £8.50 each delivered. Airfix 1/72 Stuka - A03089 - £10.50 each delivered. Revell 1/72 Hunter - Revell 3908 - £14 each delivered. Tamiya 1/48 Bf109G TBC You will see we now have a little disaster which has put a little spanner in the works with the Mustang going out of stock during the voting stages and unable to give a restock date. I have looked at the possibility of replacing it with https://www.jadlamracingmodels.com/airfix-a55107-mustang-p51-d-starter-size-1-72-aircraft-model-kit/ and seeing if that should do the trick and waiting for a reply.

Really nice Quick question, how did you sort out the nose weight for the aircraft to prevent tail sitting, as there is so little space -
One annoying this regarding the kit, but the under wing Jamming pods, U95 ECM's pictured on the box art are missing and not included

Special Dedicated Kit Group Build Poll
thepureness replied to Enzo the Magnificent's topic in Group Build Chat 2020
Dave The sponsor contacted me directly after being involved in a previous group build. They wanted to help get together a group build focusing on a certain kit rather than a collection of different kits. Builders of all different skill levels tackling the same subject. They have offered to supply the kit in question at a discount price to those that do not have the kit in their stash. Also anyone that wishes to take part from overseas can source the kit locally if it is too expensive. They will be donating a prize too -

completely agree here with you Allan The other thing is they tool kits in scales some mainstream brands wouldn't even touch (1/32 A-10A A-7E) for example. I've built trumpeter kits for ages, and when they first issued their 1/32 A-7E I bought and built it as soon as it arrived in the post. I built it 10 years ago and I was chuffed to have a big A-7E Corsair on my shelf. Only once i got online 6 years later I found people going on about the shape of the nose, didn't bother me that much. British subjects do get torn to pieces here often, but we are britmodeller and we are bound to judge British subjects more. With the amount of modern tooling around these days I can't justify spending £35 plus on on a kit tooled in the year I was born (1983 when the Airfix Vulcan was issued.) The Trumpeter Wyvern and Sea hawks in 1/48 and 1/72 scale we greatly received, the wellingtons were the best on the market in 1/72 and the only brand daring enough to produce the kit in 1/48. I built the 1/48 welly and that was one of my favourite builds when it was first issued. I've wanted to built a well detailed Vulcan and this kit, provided it is 1/72 is high on my list, would love a 1/48 kit, but I have no where to store the finished model

Zvezda 1/72 SU-27 SM Flanker B
thepureness replied to thepureness's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Built it It is a great kit -
I've had a good look around the photo. Firstly there is very fine recessed panel lines on the kit. You can also clearly seen that the bomb bay is closed with a single larger part which does seem to be fixed in place, hence why it is upside down.

Guys I've just seen a trumpeter post on Facebook of an Avro Vulcan, no scale or anything. It was in test shot form https://www.facebook.com/TrumpeterModel/?hc_ref=ARSNDRWxBzsZGlWxarLKpKmB1eoZ9i7o9dke8llzuDUnm_O6AcuEgvQNUhs-sUThwBU&fref=nf

Few things I want to cover with this GB * International members that want to take part but would like to source the kit locally, then that is all good * Anyone that already has the kit in their stash and would like to take part, then that is all good too. * Aftermarket decals are fine Some people's budget or SWMBO might not warrant spending even £25-£30 on the kit, also just waiting for the given date for the GB, which might conflict if we are waiting for new releases. One idea I want to put forward. The Airfix 1/72 Ju-87B2/R2 I have seen a few times mentioned from my list. I could then see if Rus could get a couple of the 1/48 kits of the same aircraft as prizes. Making it a little theme of build a small Junkers to win a big junkers, We could be looking around £10ish per kit. It is also a great kit too The Spitfire Mk.1a I find a little restricted due to not many decal options apart from the standard dark earth dark green

Hi everyone This is my finished Zvezda SU-27 SM kit in 1/72 scale Kit was a great build. Took about three weeks to finish. I use the Hataka red line SU-33 paints, using UN blue and dark grey/blue for the camo. Dream model etched for cockpit and ejection seat. Kit decals were a dream to use and settled so well.
