I'm very serious here, but did you just assume that tanks gender!!! It might be a female that identifies as a male tank. On another note, great looking build!!

Kitty Hawk F-101B/CF-101B/RF-101B Voodoo (KH80114) - 1:48 Kitty Hawk

It is more along the lines of "finding the positives" of the kit and not lying about it -
Kitty Hawk F-101B/CF-101B/RF-101B Voodoo (KH80114) - 1:48 Kitty Hawk
thepureness replied to Julien's topic in Kits
I'm building this kit at the moment and pretty much almost finished It is lucky I'm building it for someone else and not a kit I've purchased myself as it would have gone straight into the trash. It is a horrible beast of a kit which should not have been rushed out as quickly as it has, * Injector pin marks in the most stupid of locations and angles that masking cleaning and sanding near on impossible unless you want to sand off all the detail * Undersized and poor quality decals * A canopy that doesn't fit * Fuselage break down completely ridiculous * Completely over engineered My advice to anyone that is thinking about purchasing this kit, do not buy it. If you already have it, sell it on eBay and use the money to purchase the old monogram/Revell kit and detail it with aftermarket and re-scribe all the panel lines yourself as it will be a whole lot easier. Quite simply the worst kit I've built in the last 10 years. What makes this worst, is I need to reword everything above into a magazine review to highlight the kit in a positive light, wish me luck. -
Airfix announcement at Telford 2018, F6F-5 Hellcat 1/24 scale
thepureness replied to Robert's topic in The Rumourmonger
Several years Airfix had what I would call a Flagship release which was often unveiled at Telford. We have the Valient, Typhoon, Javelin, Victor and Phantom, though the flagship of 2015 the Shackleton wasn't announced at Telford and there hasn't really been a flagship of 2018 but we have the Hunter and 1/48 Blenheim to look forward to. It has got to be something big to get the interest up and would be something that would require huge investment but need instant profit once released, and taking Hornby's current financial situation. They would have to own the market on the kit with no other type of the kit available, at least in the scale they are producing the kit in and looking at their releases over the last few years one aircraft is staring us quite blank in the face. The Avro Vulcan once more enters the topic and the interest not just in the British market but worldwide, and they have already issued newly tooled kits of the other V bombers in the last 7-8 years. At this stage, I would be completely shocked if they did not produce a new tool Vulcan, and that post a few months ago of Trumpeter's Vulcan teaser probably shocked them into acting now.- 918 replies

Sponsor's Favourite build.

Fantastic winning build there @MarkSH, and a fantastic prize for you to build there. I hope you enjoy it. I'm sure you'll all also agree the £5 credit off Jadlams website for all people that took part is fantastic and I was not expecting. Be thank you to Russ and the team for being great sponsor's once again and I'll be putting forward a possible simular idea for the GB vote next month, if we get enough interest. -

looks like I'm having a little disaster here, been sent away for a week with work. Just returned. Can I do it in 5 days? Probably not, but going to give it a go. -
Not sure if Carlsberg have the same advertising in Germany as they do in the UK, But their advertising in the UK bases them at being the best at everything, so if Carlsberg made model kits, they would be the best

is this the heller kit re-issued?

Kitty Hawk F-101B/CF-101B/RF-101B Voodoo (KH80114) - 1:48 Kitty Hawk
thepureness replied to Julien's topic in Kits
Currently working on mine for a well-known model magazine, and there are areas I am impressed with and other I'm like, err what on earth. I'm sure when it is finished it will look fantastic, but I really do not get Fitty Hawk's logic around the idea to split most of their aircraft kits fuselage's into multi-part assemblies -
ICM Dornier Do.17Z-2 WWII Finnish Bomber - 1:48 ICM (48246)
thepureness replied to Julien's topic in Kits
ICM are very quickly turning in to one or the top brands for their aircraft. Built two of their JU-88s and wow, just wow. Mig-25 is amazing although I have the Revell boxing and the He-111 which I also have just looks insane -
If Carlsberg made model kits!! That is all I can say about this one, must get mine on the work bench

I never really get Trumpeter and Hobby Boss. They seem to have three teams, the A, B and C team. The A team get everything pretty much bang on and create some stunning kits, kits like the 1/32 Dauntless, 1/32 ME 262 and F-8E/J Crusaders spring to mind Then they have the B team, which make a few errors but nothing that can't be corrected and most kits can be built out of the box with only the specialist in the aircraft being able to pick out the errors. They then have the C team which just mess the whole thing up, the Sea Vixen, Vampire to name a couple. Have you seen the decals and paint guide for the sea vixen!!! First I heard of the sea Vixen being painted in grey topside and silver underside with White lettering on the underside. I've been wanting to build a Firefly but not comfortable with limited run kits and prefer to avoid unless the subject is a 100% must for me. But I think i'll keep my cash in the bank here

I'm currently working on a magazine review of a 1/48 jet aircraft, but I'll be at the stage soon where I can leave it to one side for a few days to dry and settle so I can break mine out to work on.
