  1. This is the exact detail I was referring to. I ignored this when building the AEW.2 but knew it was there.
  2. Keithjs You could not be more wrong. The Revell MR2 AEW was tooled more to favour the MR.3 with some areas of the wing incorrect for an AEW unit but correct for the MR.2 The split fuselage also was designed to allow alternative versions to be built. It was a 100% given that at some point in the future Revell would be issuing the MR.3 with updated parts
  3. Andre I believe that's the topic I created a few months ago. The eggplant grey is used on the SU-34, Su-25 and Su-35 in the modern fleet. This is a different colour simular to the one used on the Yak-130
  4. Those look good enough to be production sprues I'm hoping for a Q1 2019 release
  5. The first Su-27SM they produced was a fantastic kit. I've built it This looked a very good option for the two seat version, I'm very interested in the all grey unit from 790th fighter aviation regiment. Though I do question Zvezda's call out for the colours to match. If I can mind matches then I might have to purchase the kit. I think it might be the same as the Yak-130 all over grey scheme
  6. I'm not a KittyHawk fan, but if there was an aircraft that was being re-tooled by any brand the SU-25 I wouldn't care who made it, just take my money
  7. And with that demonstration over ladies and gentlemen That is how you turn a pig's ear into a silk purse. Legendary work
  8. Got mine in the post today and it is looking great. The thing that strikes me the most is how much of a simple straightforward build this will be. The low part count is good and the breakdown of parts is not that bad taking into consideration that they are producing a few different versions from the base kit. In regards to quality of plastic, sprues and detail it is up there with the other Trumpy 1/72 kits like the Mig-31 and SU-24. I'll get some detail sprue shots and get some test fitting photos up shortly. If anyone can recommend or has access to some cockpit reference I would like to see in reference to colours and seat harnesses
  9. Zvezda have been releasing a few new tools recently. I built their Su-27SM which is an amazing kit plus new several kits in the last 5-6 years. BF-109 and Su-2 in 1/48. Mig 29 in a few different versions in 1/72. They release the Mil-26 Halo and quite simply the best 1/72 Mil-24 Hind on the market. Honestly to miss all this you'll have to have locked yourself in a cupboard to miss all this
  10. looks 100% stunning, and if it builds as well as ICMs recent stuff this we be a show stopper
  11. I agree with you in a sense here, mine went straight back to eBay to sell as at a minor loss. The kit looks ok in images but when you get it out the box and start inspecting the over complicated breakdown of parts, the flash, the ridiculous ejector pin locations and what is with these 1-2cm long bits of plastic protruding out of the plastic on some of these ejector pins. You then questiong "Will this fit?" Like yourself Jgrease, I built the F-101 Voodoo and it was quite simply the worse kit I've bought and built in the last 10 years, not based on my skills but the state of the plastic in the box. I wrote a review for it in which I recommended throwing it in the bin or don't buy it and buy the old Revell/Monogram kit instead. . But saying that I do trust Mike's judgement and have purchase kits based on his reviews. AMK Mig-31 for example, but we are all human and can get something wrong on rare occasions
  12. Another member a little confused Airfix has not issued a modern tool 1/72 F6F-5 Hellcat They issued the Wildcat F4F in 1/72 scale. Two different aircraft
  13. I'm a little underwhelmed really, was hoping for something British
  14. New tool is 1/24 Hellcat Who saw that coming? https://www.airfix.com/uk-en/news/workbench/airfix-new-tooling-announcement-for-scale-modelworld-2018
  15. I'll say it again, Vulcan It won't be a 1/24 Mosquito B.IV as that would be a revised tooling with additional parts. This is a brand new tooling. Commercial sales wise Airfix need a quite hit on the market with big sales, Trumpeter frightened them when they put that Vulcan image on social media to react quickly hence I can't see anything else but a Vulcan. The only other possibility is a Buccaneer in 1/48 but that is a big display case
  16. Hi m8 It is a common meme joke, was just having a laugh. No harm intended
