Hi everyone. I've picked up Revell's boxing or the dragon BF-110C kit that has just been issued.
Originally my intention was to build the box are version but the decal for the wasp on the from looks far to fragile to sit over the cannon nose even with a ton of settling solution.
So i've looking at aftermarket decals and see there is loads of decals for the C/D. Does anyone know what the main different between the C/D was?
Most websites state the D was the long range version of the C but doesn't detail any cosmetic differences

I just purchased the 1/72 Warning star for just £25 brand new, yes the kit is old but it comes with a whole new decal sheet produced by a 3rd party and the decals are stunning along with the stencil data.
The 3rd party is called Plus model, so it now comes with the same decals which were in that huge expensive multimedia boxing of the kit by Plus Model

Looks awesome in the box
But I did have a concern with someone building the kit on a Facebook group which showed a warped fuselage, which for the price we wouldn't expect

Glorious to see this and possibly a Cornish based aircraft as well on the box art.
Mr Shackleton is very happy

Decals from the box are mostly on the model only I had to destroy them a bit.
So that they fit the appearance of the modelThanks, and what paints did you use?

I'm obsessed with Russian aircraft and the Frogfoot is one of my favorite looking aircraft.
A fantastic piece of work, a masterclass of a build. Legendary
Can I ask, where the decals from the box?

I once knew an Irish electrician who worked for the United State Prison Service.
He was recently sacked for disposing of all the eletric chairs because he felt they were in his eyes "a death trap".

Saw this on Facebook yesterday.
I surely hope so, no mention of scale

Nice result!!
But that is Southeast Asia command markings and not Indian air forces, SEAC was a branch of the British Royal Airforce. Which I believe was all the Commonwealth countries fighting in that area.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but that is my understanding

Culdrose airbase is 15-minute drive from me and this chap is now the gate guardian of Culdrose. See it so often when driving past
Amazing build

awesome!!!
What paints do you use?

Forgive the poor examples, I threw this together in a few minutes, and the subject is one of the worst to photograph, small and shiny. Its a 30x165mm round I fired myself from a 2A42 back in the day.
And try and have no interruption in the background, get a bigger piece of card, or hide your seam with the angle of the photo and the subject of the photograph. Shine lights in from different sides to get different effects, and play around with that effect to your advantage.
It only takes a little time and you can get really great pics from next to no investment and a little creativity.
1This is the perfect results I'm looking for
The downfall of the aircraft I'm photographing is a great deal of the aircraft is white, and should I be using a white background. I'll try and take some shots and come back with results using your tips

Hi, as having worked as a lighting technician in film, before giving any advice, I would ask what kind of look are you going for in the photo ?
Do you just want a nice balanced lit picture, or are you trying to give it definition with the light.
Mark
I'm looking for just a nice balanced picture with everything in focus. I'm doing magazine reviews but my pictures are just not up to scratch. My builds are to a suitable standard but I'm not getting published as much due to my poor photos

Hi everyone
I'm really struggling with getting good photos.
My issue is I'm working on a tight budget with a top end camera phone, to the naked eye my builds look get, but my photos are terrible.
I'm using different colour backing cards to get the detail to stand out, but it isn't really working.
Any advice that can help (I can't go out and buy a camera)
I've attached a couple of images

Awesome pictures there, and looks really great.
Any chance we can see the underside of the model
On another note, I saw someone using this photo on their facebook group, a group called Takadotoki Models. I'm curious if you gave permission to use the images?

Hi guys
I'm looking for options in order to build a coastal command B-17 MKII in 1/72 scale
I know Academy produced one from the box, but it is a little rare to find, plus I heard it have big issues with the wings.
Next stage is if I can use any of the Revell or Airfix recent kits to build one or any other alternative.
Any tips?
-
Does anyone know if this includes the fairing to cover the ball turret? I'm looking to build a coastal command aircraft without the turret

They did crawl out from their hole recently so the worrying is over.
Took them some time to shut down rumors

It is a subjective assessment Mike and a nice model btw. Compare the panel lines however on the AMK kit to, say, Tamiya's current F-14's and then tell me you can't see the difference? Likewise, just look at those on their F-14 kit (should it ever see the light of day) which were on BM a couple of weeks ago when discussing that one and those are also much heavier than those seen on Tamiya's or even the now ancient Hasegawa F-14 kits. As I said...each to their own and as we both agree, the metal u/c (certainly for long term integrity) is an absolute 'must' with this kit

Don't take this the wrong way, but many people argue that the Mig-31 is possibly one of the best model kits ever produced. I've got it in my stash and at the moment I'm not brave enough to build it as I want to do it justice. But even looking in the box I'm stunned by the quality.

AMK never really had an active website. Also Kitty Hawk Models, who are producing some kits, shut their website down. Why?
Bottom line. AMK has some shape issues with their rendition of the 1/48 F-14D. They are serious enough for them to go back to the drawing board and start again. Fuel door at wrong angle, big rear end, come to mind.
If AMK were to issue the kit that was shown as test shot sprues on November 2018 the Ramsay Bolton faction of the modeling community would be filled with glee as they flayed AMK on the Internet.

AMK going back to the drawing board doesn't harm anyone. In fact it may mean we really do get a very nice and affordable F-14D in 1/48 scale. There are now how many companies making quarter scale P-51's?
I wish AMK success. They've made some very nice kits. Hope to see more.
Now I'm going to open my bottle of Ammo of MiG liquid glue and go back to work on my Hobby Boss (with it's issues) F-14A Danger Zone by Eduard.
It's all good saying this, but if a manufacture becomes inactive over a large duration of time it can be worrying.
As I commented above, their kits seem to be on auction sites at inflated prices as well.
Now it could be that they are closed due to Chinese New Year and will wake up again in March. But there is fear going around.
-
Another issue now if their kits are neing sold on ebay at inflated prices

It always was a bit dicey picking a complex shaped American fighter and then throwing themselves at the red line annotating brigade. The thread on ARC got closed down after it had degenerated into a discussion of shapely women's posteriors, Finnish desserts and rude comments about POTUS.
I loved AMK's Foxhound and honestly believe they should have stuck to Russian jets. We still need a good Su-15 Flagon series in any double-digit scale. Alas, they diced it and were overtaken by two Tamiyas, with a Great Wall Hobby Tomcat likely to beat the AMK into fourth place.
Tony
Another rumour is the GWH tomcat is the AMK kit

You've never had the chance to build the Trumpeter 1/32 Dauntless which is quite simply a master piece of kit detail, engineering and accuracy. It is by a far their best kit to date and feedback it is their best kit ever.
Trumpeter and Hobby Boss have what I would call an A Team, B Team and C Team.
The A Team are by far their best team and have produced some quite marvellous kits. The Dauntless mentioned above, their Me 262 series, Swordfish to name a few
The B Team are good but might get a slight issue on one or two details, The A-7E Corsair with the doggy nose but everything else on the money, the A-10 Thunderbolt
Then their is Team C who have used a 5 years old's drawing as the CAD design and create a monstrosity of a kit, Vampire springs to mind.
They have built some stunning kits but their is some terrible ones too, it is just know which ones.
