  1. Hi Rodders I normally paint the inside area black, or if needed, whatever the body colour is. The window bits normally fit over these areas and quite honestly you cant really see them that much so no, I dont mask them off.
  2. Afternoon Chaps They just go in under the air intakes John, like such...
  3. Afternoon Chaps (Yeeees, I'm one of those pesky non aircraft modeller's that waste your precious bandwidth ) Well now, in a word, CARS!!!!!!. I know I have more chance of meeting a Klingon, but it would be nice to see all the 32nd scale cars retooled. And while they are at it, maybe they can get a wiggle on doing the 16th and 8th scale Motorbikes as well. Harking back to my yufe... the 1/600 scale ships would be quite nice too. I used to love building them. Oh and the 72nd scale Scorpion too
  4. Afternoon All Ahhh man I would love one of those Land Rovers again I recently started looking at getting kits I had when I was a kid, and have purchased the Quad & 25 Pounder and SAS jeep so far, that Land Rover, the 88mm gun and the Hamomag are the rest. As for oldest kits, I saw the Schwimmwagen, Kubelwagen and 6pdr in a shop the other day, and I believe they are still producing some of the figures from the first ten releases. Mad Steve
  5. Evening Chaps I have decided, In a momentary lapse of joyous rapture.... I will like Pete's Owl for the whoooooole day tomorrow
  6. We're on the upside down bit to you Gorbs, we are slowly going into winter down sarf here. Been raining on and off for a week, forecast for another week, but its still 25 deg C My god Beard, Ian Dury and the Blockheads, man that takes me waaaaaaaaaay back, I had all his singles ( singles, for all the non oldies were big black cd like things that we used to play with sabre tooth tiger needles on wind up record players )
  7. Afternoon Chaps Tamiya are to release the new 2018 Toyota Supra in the next few months. The real one hasn't even been officially launched yet It really is a stunning stunning car. Mad Steve

    Tamiya LP Paints

Morning Chaps Well just a little report back. I've now tried them out a couple of times. Basically what you have is decanted Tamiya paint without the hoohah of decanting They are exactly the same as the TS paint, and apart from the fineness of the finish, it is difficult to tell the TS and LP colours apart. I used mine straight from the bottle with no thinning and they worked just fine, (that was spraying at 18Psi) and I cleaned them out with my usual Acetone. I think we might be onto a winner here I haven't had a chance yet to try out the Clear, but I'll let you know. The only grumble really is the bottle size, but then to keep the price down and make them competitive I can see the point. A bottle will do a couple of bikes or a car body and a half but then they are cheap enough to get a stock in. The big thing though is, the guys that live anywhere outside of the EU and UK that cant get Zero or Gravity paints, airbrush ready paint from Tamiya really is a blessing in disguise. Two thumbs up
  9. Afternoon Chaps I have found the little bottles of Tamiya Panel Line colour are very good. Use them over clear, apply with a small paintbrush and wipe the excess off with Artists Turpentine.
  10. Very nice indeed, especially the cars
  11. yes but they only come in 7cm ones, (just so happens to be the size of a jamjar )
  12. Morning Chris There are a couple about, Matchbox and Revell copy, Aoshima and a couple of others in 12th scale. You should still be able to find them on ebay.
  13. Hi Bolosun Molotov also do a Black pen as well
  14. short and too the point.... but I'll bet everyone read it and went, yeaah!

    Tamiya LP Paints

Afternoon Chaps Shaun, Yep quite correct, they are the same paint as the TS colours, just in bottles. I was led to believe that they are actually airbrush Ready, but as I said, haven't had a chance to test them yet. (and my japanese isn't good enough to read what it says on the bottle ) Steve, Didn't buy them in the UK, But if we have them down here in Africa's bottom, you should have them up there.
  16. One lives is Dar and one did not even mention the beautiful beaches..... You are truely a local (Might have something to do with the 473657 people on said beaches )

    Tamiya LP Paints

Morning Chaps Anybody had a chance to try out the new Lacquer paints from Tamiya yet? I purchased them at the weekend but haven't got around to trying them yet.
  18. Afternoon Chaps Nothing makes me happier than sitting on a veranda somewhere down by the coast, couple of books or magazines, sitting there listening too and watching the sea.... Even though I have been accused of being a grumpy old fart, (namely by the other residents of Chez Mad) there are those odd days where that little ray of sunshine pokes through the clouds of old fartydom and makes one smile and feel contented. Moreover it'll be my kids... They are imports (step daughters) as Mad Mrs 1.0 wasn't forthcoming in the child department, so the day that they were adopted and they called me dad for the first time.... Nowadays its far less soppy, and i'm happy just finishing a kit without effing it up
  19. They do tend to have that effect on people. They aren't bad kits, pretty basic but not bad for 30+ year old kits.
  20. Heller actually did quite a few in 43rd scale, The Rover 3500, 'Leyland' Princess (as they call it), Jag XJS, Mini & Range Rover. That 43rd scale range is often overlooked and if you are a classics fan, had some really nice little kits in it.
  21. Hi Hans As Stu said, there isnt one, but there is a 1/43rd scale one from VF models (dont know if they are still around though)
  22. I agree 100% Gavin. The sad fact is that the people that are saying that, are the people that are bringing kits in, and if they decide there's no market, then buggery, that's it. You know, I have never quite understood why, given the range of vehicles that were produced, that models of British cars are so few on the ground. Just take this for example. How many kits of British car models can you name, from the late 40's to the early 60's? in 1/24th scale. French, German and Italian on the other hand you can basically have your pick. 60 odd years into plastic modelling and we still don't have Morris Minor in 24th scale. nuff said
