  1. You don't see many Skyknight kits around. Very well executed, I liked it very much!
  2. Thank you plasticsurgeon. As the model has already came assembled (2nd hand kit), really is not possible to determine 100% the manufacturer. One thing is certain, the scale is next to 1/70 and certainly not 1/72, I compared the kit with 1/72 drawings of the Skyraider. It's bigger. Searching the internet, the only not-1/72 Skyraider kit that I found was Fujimi. There is a possibility that the kit is from Tsukuda, too (I heard the Tsukuda kit is a copy of the Fujimi Skyraider). I downloaded the Fujimi instructions sheet from the internet, and when I disassembled the kit I saw that the parts and the method of montage were the same as the Fujimi instructions sheet. So, either Fujimi or Tsukuda, that is the question ...
  3. Hi, this is the Fujimi 1:70 A1-H Skyraider. A friend of mine bought this second hand kit, already assembled (very badly), and asked me to rebuild it with a light gull gray and white painting from the Vietnam war. First I removed all remains of the old painting of the kit, and carefully I loosed and removed all parts. Since it was to be a rebuild, I suggested the famous Skyraider "paper tiger" with the toilet bomb used in October 1965. The complete history is on the website: http://www.midwaysailor.com/midwayva25bomb/ There is a 1/72 resin and PE kit for the toilet bomb, from Brengun, but I intended to make a slightly different (and innacurate) bomb and the solution was scratchbuild it. Some work-in-progress images (sorry for the very poor quality, my camera is not good for close up photos, and the parts are too small). First the 3 parts that form the toilet bomb, pieces of polystyrene sheet and sprue, cut and sanded. The cavity inside the rounded part was excavated with a micro-grinding wheel. The whole toilet bomb was coated with a liberal coat of cyanoacrilate, to give a vitreous appearance. The assembly was basically OOB (in despite it is a rebuilt kit...). The landing gear was slightly improved, a plastic tapered ring was scratchbuit and glued around the engine gearbox, as well as the coverage inside the front of the cowling. The coverage petals had been previously scribbed with a needle. A piece of copper wire was bent and superglued to form a frame, within which the toilet bomb is placed. I tested to see how it would look under the Skyraider's wing. After that, the "bomb" was painted white, and clear varnish was applied to obtain a vitreous appearance. The frame was painted dark gray. After the decals were applied on the "bomb", it was glued inside the frame with white glue. Decals applied (laser printed on a clear decal sheet, minus the insignia) and weathering on the belly of the kit. Finished... Comparing with the 1/72 Airfix Skyraider, this Fujimi kit is in fact slightly bigger... Cheers!
  4. A shinning beauty. Very good!
  5. Biplanes are always tricky. You did a great work here!
  6. A beautiful model. The white tail and wing leading edge are very cool. The fuselage star-and-bar without blue contour is interesting, too. Congratulations! There's an old CCR's song...
  7. The painting is very well done. The blue color combines very well with the silver. A very cool model!
  8. Very well built and painted, sensational weathering. And the red over white insignias are very cool. Plenty of space in the no-propeller nose for the anti-tailsitting lead weight, I guess. A perfect model.
  9. A very very very cool model! The painting and weathering work is superb.
  10. I liked very much this helicopter model (especially the blue paint), and I have the same doubt about the "asymmetrical" rotor blades...
  11. Nicely built, I liked the camouflage painting. An interesting subject, resembles the F-102. Congratulations!
  12. I did like it very much. A fantastic work, the white/red stripes on tail and the white/silver/red propeller are sensational.
  13. A well built model, the Hi-Viz markings are very cool!
  14. A very inspiring and very well executed work. Now I want to build my Privateer like this, but I doubt it will look so beautiful!
  15. A great assembling and painting of a nice airplane. Congratulations!
  16. A great 109 and a superb careful painting work. The chalked number #174 on propeller blade is an interesting detail. I loved the fuselage code letters "U.F.O."... :-)
  17. B-17s are very photogenic. Just like your model. What a beauty!
  18. Terrific work. The "May" (specially in 1/72 scale) is a big plane, I am thinking about how much weight you should have used in the front part of the kit. Your model is fantastic, and I liked very much the propellers and hubs. I have a vac-formed kit of the IL-38 (1/72 too), I even got inspired to begin to build it...
  19. What a cool model, well built and nicely painted. I like it very much. At a glance, the rear part of the hood (canopy) made me remember a VW beetle .
  20. Seen from here, it seems very good. Your kit is well built and the aluminium finish is fabulous. Additionally, the Yak-23 is an airplane that you don't see every day, in fact I had never seen a '23 kit built. If this is your first NMF finish then you are more than ready for more other "silver" planes.
