  1. Nice project and looking forward to your progress on this one. I see you are going to use SAC white metal landing gear! Will that stuff hold under all that weight after some time taking the whole weight of the model? I know it's 48th scale but..... Regards. Andy
  2. Nice start to a great kit, you are right in that not so much of the engines can be seen on the finished build Be careful to follow ZM's instructions as jumping around can cause a few fit issues down the line. Regards. Andy
  3. Really like your work on this one, I built the 32nd scale Trumpeter R-2 a few years back and had a blast with it, one of my favourite Stuka schemes going. Watching your progress with interest. Regards. Andy
  4. Just immaculate, I have just started the same Duellist build as well and going with the LVG first, I also have the Uschi wood grain decals on order as well as Aviattic for the fabric parts. Will be following your progress with interest. Regards. Andy
  5. Thank you for your kind words and comments Troy, particularly welcome are you spots on the aerial and upper wing roundel positioning as I've overlooked these little area's on this build. With regards to the cockpit, I used the Grey Matter update which if I'm correct is from a master by Radu and I did indeed paint in aluminium............ Also added a set of HGW harnesses for good measure. Regards. Andy
  6. Thanks Miggers, it was a very easy choice of which airframe I was modelling, also wanted to do a "B" type camo scheme which helped my choice along also. Regards. Andy
  7. Thank you Kev, to be honest it wasn't to bad when I was in to it but I would just put it to one side for a week if I wasn't feeling it so breaking up the process. Regards. Andy
  8. Thanks Joachim, I used Archer resin rivets, a slow process but well worth the effort, this is what it looked like prior to paint being applied.......... Regards. Andy
  9. Been a very long time since I have posted any work but here is a recently finished PCM Hurricane, loved building this one and have a rag wing version I am wanting to start very soon........... brilliant kit to What a great kit to build but I did add a few extra's which were well worth the effort, particularly the raised rivet detail on the upper and lower wing. Regards. Andy
  10. So, after a couple of years, a couple of house moves and some changes in my life I am firmly back at the modelling bench and have decided to brush this one off........more to follow very shortly. Thanks for looking.
  11. Kallisti makes an interesting point but I thought I'd use a bit of artistic licence and also help break up the large area's of blue to add a little interest. Andy
  12. That is absolutely stunning, my favourite Crusader scheme. Andy
  13. Here is my Tamiya Spitfire Mk VIII converted into a PR XI with the help of Alley Cat conversion set. Really enjoyed this build and is my first completed work I have put up here so your comments and critism would be most welcome.
  14. Had a nice quite day at home yesterday and made some good progress on the wings backdating to Mk2 specification, All vortex generators removed, all detail on leading edge removed and resin insert fitted to upper wing to remove the kink seen in the leading edge on later javelins, Alley cat supply this part to meet the panel lines but rather than spoil the lovely panel lines on this kit I cut the insert down as small as possible and will blend this in to the wing which seems a far easier option than re-scribing! Alley cat also supply a second insert for the wing leading edge but to be honest a little filling and sanding is all that is needed rather than further surgery to the wing.
  15. Finally had a chance to make a start on this thanks to the great British weather this weekend!! Cockpit together as far as possible with some Eduard added (not sure if I'm that taken with this set to be honest but then you don't really need that much of it when your back dating to a Mk2) I've cut back the tail section and had a little dry fit of the new tail section which looks pretty good and should only need a little filler for a nice finish So quite pleased with the basic fit of the new resin tail I then cleaned up the new cockpit section which is absolutely spot on and fits into the kit perfectly, however I was soon to be disappointed when I found the new nose cone to be so oversize compared to the correctly sized cockpit part, yes I understand resin shrinks but very surprised to see such a big difference between the two replacement parts.
