  1. Thanks for your offer Robert, very kind. Unfortunately (as far as I can tell) these are for 1/48 (whereas I need 1/72). I’d also need 9 sets. I think I’m going to either build with current markings or try and find someone with the skills to make the decals for me. I suspect it will be the former. Cheers,
  2. Thanks everyone for the pointers on the older boxings....as I already have the newer boxing of this kit I was looking for some aftermarket decals but guess these don’t exist. I may need to look into getting some made (or live with the newer scheme) Thanks,
  3. Thanks Dave, Indeed, yes building a 9 ship. yeah, unfortunately I already have the later boxing’s of the Airfix kit. I think these come with the different serials, so it’s really the - fin decal (Red/white/blue with small Union flag) - fuselage decal (stripe) - nose decal (small ‘Royal Air Force’ + crest/badge) Cheers, Colin.
  4. Hopefully I have this in the correct section?... Does anyone know if it’s possible to source 1/72 Red Arrows decals for a pre-2008 team? I think (I may be wrong) that this marked a major change in scheme. Basically I’m looking for [original] markings with the red/white/blue tail (with small Union Flag in centre), the solid white fuselage band and the small ‘Royal Air Force’ on the nose. All the latest boxings have the post 2008 scheme with the stylised (wavy) Union Flag tail and large ‘Royal Air Force’ markings on the fuselage - not a fan of these. I need 9 sets. Any ideas? Thanks, Colin.
  5. Beautiful model, and congratulations in your contribution to that fantastic display at Telford (my personal favourite).
  6. Hi, Just trying to get my head around Airfix v Revell (or anyone else for that matter) when it comes to 1/72 Hawk (Red Arrows) - appreciate any feedback on which is the better kit; pros and cons, and pitfalls etc. Main priority is shape accuracy, and in terms of decals, I'm looking to use the pre-2007 scheme and ideally have serial options for all 9. Thanks, C
  7. Hello, (have also posted similar message in the wanted action) im looking for a recommendation of a company (or individual) who can make a few decals for me. I’m putting together a Revell 1/32 Super Cub in the scheme of Goodwood Flying Schools’ G-DRGL (see google for images). It’s a simple white scheme but I need the registration marks (2x for fuselage + 1x for port wing) and a couple of Cub logos for the tail. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Cheers,
  8. Ah interesting thanks, that's where I picked up my kit - arrived today! Still in awe at looking at the contents...looking forward to seeing the rest of the build.
  9. Wonderful work. I have one on its way but need to clear out some space and figure out how/where I'm going to display it. What glue to you use for the PE work? Looks very clean.
  10. Hi, Looking for aftermarket PE and wooden deck for Trumpeter 1:200 Bismarck and am a little confused at the offerings and where to source. The KA/MK1 set (MD20002) looks nice as do the Pontos sets (gather you need a couple of separate products to get the 'complete' set). Does anyone have any recommendations on either and where to buy? Is there is a European/U.K supplier of these? Thanks, Colin.
  11. Apparently Hood entered Gladstone Graving Dock in Liverpool on 28th May 1940 for hull repairs...might see if I can find reference info for this and use this as inspiration for my model. Thanks.
  12. Thanks for the info. That last photo shows Hood reversing into the tidal basin, but I wonder whether she actually fit into the dry dock or undertook these 'Rosyth refits' alongside (within the main tidal basin)?
  13. Can anyone shed any light on whether Hood was ever in dry dock at Rosyth at any point? I have a number of references that say that she was, but I can only find references that show No.1 dock as being 850ft long (as completed in 1916) so something is not right. Basically I would like to complete my 1:350 Hood depicted in a conventional dry dock but the only photos I can find are of Hood in a floating dry dock (Malta 1937). I guess most of the shore refits didn't require a dry dock? Anyone know anything (where/when) about Hood's dry dock refits? I think I may have the info in the John Roberts book but am away from home at present. Cheers,
  14. Trumpeter 1:200 Hood - amazing! Just need to finish my 1:350 now.
  15. Exceptionally kind offer Dave, PM sent. Colin.
