  1. This is the wonderful kit from Revell of the He 177 Greif. A model packed with detail and a really impressive piece of kit designing. Built out of the box. No fit issues at all. Painted as a machine from KG 40 based in Bordeaux-Merignac in June 1944. I used Xtracolor enamels for the RLM colours. For the RLM65 mottling over the RLM76, I used the etched stencils from Uschi Van Rosen. Thanks for looking. Angelo
  2. If I may slightly sidetrack this thread briefly but what would be the correct cockpit colour for WG777? The plans say black, but photos of the cockpit in Cosford all show a light grey 😕
  3. Well that's rather lovely! Nice to see something different too
  4. I converted the old Airfix Fokker Friendship into a Fairchild Hiller FH-227. The main change needed was for the fuselage to be extended in front of the wings. As the fuselage cross section is virtually a circle its straightforward to do with plastic card & Milliput. For the cabin windows I cut away the fuselage panel and replaced it with a piece of clear acrylic which after sanding and polishing to the contours of the body had the window positions masked off. There were a few other minor changes, some air scoops needed removing and others adding, and the Fairchild had leading edge landing lights which were also added to the model. Decals are from Far South Models and they represent a Uruguayan Air Force machine. The aeroplane is famous, or infamous, for the crash in the Andes on the 13th of October 1972 while transporting a party of civilians, including a Rugby team to Chile. This episode became known as the "Miracle of the Andes" and the story was made into the films "Alive" & "Society of the Snow". The model was painted with Tamiya acrylics. Thanks for looking Angelo
  5. This is the Eduard Spitfire Mk1 in 1/48th scale. A lovely little model with a lot of detail and options (this is built from their "Spitfire story: The Few boxing.) Completely out of the box build, everything you need is in the box. No major drama, except that I found the decals difficult. They were a struggle to get to settle down over the surface detail. Painted with Xtracolor enamels. Thanks for looking Angelo
  6. Thank you. Navy Phantoms did suffer from the elements a bit more than the land based ones, and I do like to give my models a "worn" appearance. Thank you all very much for all your comments & compliments
  7. I never cease to be amazed by these card models! A really impressive looking model of an amazing aircraft. Great work!😀
  8. Thank you for all your comments. Greatly appreciated😊
  9. Thank you all very much for your kind comments! It was a fun kit to build Yes! Most definitely. The figures were too nice to have not put them in the cockpits.
  10. Thanks for your comments, it is a very nice kit with hardly any issues. The seats were from Aires,
  11. Academy's 1/48th F4-J is an interesting kit, loaded with detail. This boxing of the model allows you to build one of two schemes, both from VF-84 "Jolly Rogers" from 1972. The kit includes a very nicely appointed cockpit, some impressive surface detail, and a nice choice of weaponry. I'm not too sure about the multicoloured parts, white, black & grey sprues, very "Matchbox". The upper fuselage is produced in one piece, so no seam along the spine to deal with The intake trunking is reasonable for the kit. I added a set of resin ejector seats left over from another project, but everything else is out of the box. Painted with Tamiya acrylics & lacquers ( metallic colours). Thanks for looking Angelo
