  1. Super work! Those prop blurs do look fantastic, I'll definitely be grabbing a set. Thanks for the tip. Dan
  2. Cheers chaps. I'm going to model both in flight, with the spit on the tail of the 109 and the 109 perhaps half rolled over taking evasive action... There's lots to think about, how to make muzzle flashes? Create back firing effect on the exhausts like the awesome box art, make the props look like they're spinning, create a base that looks good but is not huge and bulky... Far as I can tell, 'Pedro' aka Pilot Officer, Osgood Villiers Hanbury (Great name!) didn't claim a 109 during the battle, but we can be damn sure he shot up a few I have his book on order, which I'm greatly looking forward to reading. Aside from all the thinking on my project, I've put scalpel to plastic and hairy stick to paint... And made a good start. Since it's all being closed up I'm using building straight out of box, saving the yahu panel for another where it'll be seen. The kit panel with decal applied actually looks pretty good and the dials show better than the aftermarket piece. I'll not be spending a great amount of time working on the cockpits of either machine, just basic painting / highlighting and dirtying things up. I'll make an effort to add the rear section of the harness and blend some straps to his shoulders. Also sculpt the oxygen mask over his face instead of hanging loose as it is now. Should look good if all goes to plan
  3. Better late than never, as they say. I'm joining in with this pair - New tool Airfix - Mk.I Spitfire & Bf 109E-4. My plan is to build them both straight out of box with the only extra being, the excellent new instrument panels from Yahu models. Both kits arrived just this morning and so I've not had a chance to look at them yet but I've been quietly following this GB since the off and they look like beauties! Tally ho!!
  4. If you haven't read Geoff Wellum's book 'First Light', read it! It one of the best books I've ever read... So good I read it twice! I've an idea to build his 92 squadron spitfire K for king.
  5. I'd like to partake in this GB if I may. I have an Eduard bf109 E1 to build, also, a couple of Hurricanes and I'm building a mk.I spit at the moment but I might get another and do a better job of it
  6. Cheers Hunter! Hmmmmmm, the 28th! I've missed the bloody deadline haven't I! And I also forgot to add pics of my TIE fighter too. Ah well, not to worry, I doubt anyone would have voted for any of my models anyway with such awesomeness on show elsewhere. Here it is done
  7. Yes! Scale aside, that is one hugely impressive model! I've done some more digging in the cave and found a whole load of epic 40k! Warlord included Cheers! Yeah I remember those! They were... er, not the best let's say. Cheers. Here it is with some paint. Must get a shimmy on and finish before the end, it's almost there as you can see, just a few final highlights and paint the base and done And a huge pile of epic in a plastic tub, how many tank I don't know? Loads of metal in here, must weigh 2-3kg! If only I had the self discipline to paint an army... Something I've never done! Epic, Fantasy or 40k..... I just lose the will to carry on after making a good start then sell it off! One day I'll do it... One day.....
  8. Since I am god and I created him, I've improved 'the package'..... Now we know the reason he managed to pull smoking hot chicks like Mary Jane and Gwen Stacy!
  9. Ain't it just! Blows my vinyl model clean out the water
  10. The Amazing Spider-Man. Loz Diamond Blocks.
  11. Bangers & mash devoured... and done! The Amazing-Spider Man! Recommended for anyone trying to cling onto their childhood... Or people actually still in their childhood! Or people who just like Spider-Man...... Or lego. Search Loz Diamond Blocks on ebay and be amazed at the sheer variety of cool stuff you can make. I've just ordered 4 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
  12. It's horrible, all of those things and more! I'll need to break out a fresh tube of filler, and put on some calm, soothing music when I tackle it.......... Goosfraba... goooosefraaaaba.............. LOL If I wasn't eating a plate of bangers and mash right now, it'd be done already
  13. My 4th entry in this GB. Found and bought on ebay for the grand sum of £1.66 including shipping from China! I've no idea how they manage to make a profit on that deal! I've no idea why I bought either! LOL Can you tell what it is? No? Didn't think so! All will be revealed very soon indeed
  14. Yep, I've painted a good few epic titans over the years, great models and it's a scale I like. I hear a rumor Forgeworld will be releasing a Warlord in 40k scale! Must be 4 foot tall!! Probably cost well in excess of a grand! I wish GW would make available their back catalogue and get back to using white metal, instead of that finecast rubbish covered in air bubbles! Great were the days when you could order individual components of any model ever produced. Seems now they're only interested in extracting as much money from their customers in as dull a way possible! Slapping a 'Limited Edition' label on everything they make. For me GW no longer exists.... Well they do.... But they've changed their name to eBay, can't say I like the collector prices though :/ Model is now made up and I'm about to prime it. I reckon Blood Angels for the simple reason, red is my favorite colour, and the 1:1 scale BA space marine that stood in the window of GW Manchester many moons ago was partly what got me into liking all things warhammer
  15. A fine result! I'd be tempted to give the scene a roof made of clear perspex so dust doesn't settle in there over time.
  16. Nicely done, both. I've painted a fair few Ultramarines in my time and always went for the 4th company too
  17. Sorting through some stuff in my man cave I came across this. I contemplated flogging it on ebay since I know they fetch a good price but decided instead to build it and post a progress report here It has quite a bit of flash and a big dirty mold line running right down the centre (it is centre and not center, right? Do we really have an american spell checker on BRITmodeller LOL!!) I'll try and tackle that as best I can but I'm aiming for a quick build here, it'll do nicely until paint I've ordered arrives so that I may carry on with my spitfire. Not sure on chapter colours yet (IT IS COLOURS!) I'll get the thing together first
  18. Looks super! How did you go about cutting the elevators? I have a mk.I I'm working on at the moment and would like to do the same on it.
  19. Impressive work! I do enjoy reading your W.I.P threads
  20. Fabulous work! I love the show Vikings. This is an amazing sculpt, would love to have a go myself but I'd never do it justice!
