  1. afaik, the Mk.IX did not have a clothes-line aerial wire as it used the VHF radio,
  2. I'm still using 'Astonish' wood floor 'polish' But its hard to get now I'm down to my last 2 bottles. I use a lot of it as I use it as a dye sealant and glosser in my leather work. I also use it to thin (dilute) Vallejo gloss varnish I used to get it in Home Bargains for about £1 for a 750ml bottle but I haven't seen it in my usual Home Bargains branch for months - but we - our shops - in N.I, have supply problems that youse on the mainland aren't experiencing
  3. My rule for this year was to NOT sign up to ANY GBs at all! (except for on the Airfix Tribute Forum, for special reasons)
  4. One of the ship kits I wanted but either never got around to buying or it was too expensive back then I have one on back-order with Hannants now though
  5. Another New Year rule broken; please count me in on this I think I supported it the last time it was suggested
  6. I'm tempted to buy one To build a version which I remember seeing in Belfast
  7. That is certainly a possibility. Unless you can find more photos of both Z Hurricanes its something we will never know or be sure of
  8. I think there are only about 8 kits in the newly announced range that I want Note that the Aston Martin DB5 is 1/43, not the old 1/32 one; others might miss this
  9. Compare the fuselage roundel with the under-wing one We see a dark ring then a light one. If ortho film had been used; the red centre on the under-wing roundel would be near black, but its a mid-grey. Ortho film also makes yellow very dark and lightens blue a bit, but not to near white. If ortho film had been used the blue of the under-wing roundel would be a bit lighter, but it is not. Therefore, I believe what we are seeing is an over-sized 'Type A' roundel
  10. The two Z Hurricanes in your last two photos are different. Notice the camouflage pattern under and up to the exhaust stubs I used a propeller from a 1/72 Academy Boeing B.17 It comes with 4 each of two different types of prop. afair the B.17 prop should be 6 inches longer each blade than that used on the Hurricane but the model kit ones measured up at only about 1 inch too long and a swipe with a sanding file brought them to the correct size
  11. Propeller; if you can get one, one from a Boeing B.17 is very nearly perfect That's what I used on this;
  12. ebay; Airfix 1/72 Douglas Skyraider decals. Usually sold for about £2
  13. I had some points on Jadlam which were about to expire so I used them as part payment to buy an Aoshima 1/43 BTF 1 DeLorean I'll build this one mostly oob, with any improvements needed to make it a better model car rather than a toy. I'll also check it over to see if it can be built without all that equipment to build a standard DMC12 I think I might get the Part 2 and Part 3 cars as well sometime in the future, or the past future
  14. The 'Prince Henry' can be easily made into the more common and cheaper 'Type D' version
  15. Depending on the decal and the period; Vallejo 'Signal Blue' 71-091 i in the Model Air range for WW2 For WW1 and post WW2, Revell 51 Ultramarine Blue
  16. If you have the patience, rescribe it Before construction; Get a sewing needle and very carefully scratch alongside the raised panel line. Scratch that line a few times and you'll have rescribed the plastic
  17. I've had a search and found nowt You may have to buy in a scrap MiniArt figure just for the hands, or scratch-make them Measure across each of his hand just at the knuckles and multiply that up to see just what size his hands are They should measure out at about 4 inches across (man, small hand) to 4.5 inches (man, average hand) 4.75 inches (man, large hand) Although I know a couple of men whose hands measure up at about 5.5 inches across You may be able to cut the hands off and reduce their size and re-attach Welcome to the Dr Victor Frankenstein Institute of Anatomy Reconstruction
  18. Emhar do them https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/EM5002?result-token=PBTiY https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/EM5001?result-token=PBTiY
  19. Simply measure his height in mm and divide into 1830 to get an approximation of the scale eg, if he measures up at about 75mm; 1830 / 75 = 24.4, or about 1/24. Although in model figures to say he is 75mm is fine too When we know his scale we can think of where to get hands For 1/32, 54mm Historex Spares does sets of hands, and feet, and legs, and . . . . Dr Victor would enjoy their stock
  20. There has always been plenty of WW1 types kits, from 1/144 up to 1/28 But its rather a niche genre so after-market suppliers rather ignore WW1. They can make more money on the parts for regular WW2 types Hannants does have some few aftermarket parts in 1/32 for WW1 types. Mostly made by 'Barracuda' afair
  21. I no longer visit the Airfix website on the day, I just follow what youse lot report via here
