  10. Thanks kspriss and Harry, looking forward to the challenge. Quick update as I've started but about to depart on hols for a week or so. Forward bulkheads have been cut to size and glued in: The large but not used hole is blanked off and ready for filling, which is in hand already. The fuselage on the right has had the rear observation ports blanked off and the forward window as well, both sanded filled and sanded The left is ready for sanding, then much rivit replacing to do. Thanks for looking
  11. Right, not sure were this is going but I'm with it all the way. Dave
  12. For my next build I thought I'd like to stay with the Airfix Sea King, warts and all. So for a fair price I bagged the following on a well known auction site (along with some 1:48 helos that I'll get a round to in the future): My intention is to build them at the same time, and add as much scratch built stuff as I can, I will add some PE, mainly the crew door steps(although this will be the PE for the Revell kit), the amount of detailing in the cockpit will be small as I know from my last HAR3A build it cant be seen. The HU5 will be detailed more on the outside with I hope the engine, the small dome radar and the avionics bay all opened up and detailed, the inside is very similar to the HAR 3A so I'll scratch the radar console and seats. The ASaC7 will be detailed inside only with the large side door open, the dual radar console and the large radome control box and interior detail will be enough I think. Rotors on both will be folded as display storage is always an issue, not sure about the rear rotors though. They will be painted and decaled as per the Airfix instructions, I've spent enough already. This again is about improving my skills and learning, so things may not be reflected quite as the real thing. I'm trying to raise the bar here, so here goes..... Thanks Dave

  18. Gents What can I say, thank you all so much for the kind words, you really do know how to reward someones efforts. I can only say that with the knowledge and encouragement that I see imparted here I think I'm here for the long haul. Any way, I'm looking forward to sharing my projects in the near future, I've got a few in the ever growing stash. Dave
