  1. When I started the build I doubted doing this, but I bit through the sour aplle ( as we say down here ) and did it, the control wires for the rudders also added these two moth!ç(èçers, took me an hour, Tamiya doesn't provide the holes in the upperwing, sort it out
  2. beautifull build, I can only dream of this standards
  3. Hi Jack, you've got me I know bout the shortcomings , but as for my first WWI attempt I'm happy I brought it this far. Had to spent some work on the spinner, it did not fit at all, this was the closest I could get without ruining. I even know the wheelstruts are too short, I will be building another one in the future and replace those wrong struts by the Pheonmodels'. The water tower to the topwing indeed is missing, after assembling everything I could find no way to get to it anymore, lot o things were in the way, another thing I take with me to a next build. thnx for your input grtz C
  4. So ok, I've redone the wrong rigging, should be right now some more rigging done canopy came very satisfactioning out of the paintjob stand painted with oilpaints, I wil now add some black to it to give it a more used look
  5. looks great to me though, why are you not happy with it ??
  6. great looking cockpit you've got there. Are ya planning to do further detailling on the engine, or will it be build cowling closed ??
  7. not at all, in my opinion, varnish and glue don't go together very well. I glue the sandpaperstrips onto the bare MDF with woodglue
  8. waauuw, great looking models and a very nice dio
  9. I'm not that into jets, but I like this one a lot, great paintjob
  10. If you leave part 39b off, there's no problem at all. That part is definitely in the way of the fit, and if ya build it cowling closed ya won't miss it
  11. looks great to me, reminds me I still have to build mine ( Eduard's )
  12. Amazing, what a stunning build, I just run out of superlatives to discribe what's before my eyes
  13. I can see it now, I did not miss it, I 've added it the wrong way, gotta change that, no big deal
  14. I wanna thank you all for the kind words, as said, I'm just a newbie, but I try my best efforts
  15. was a mixture : the green is right out of the can " tamiya cockpit green " , as wingnut wings ( yes, I relied on them ) told me to use. The purple is a mixture, can't recall right now, but then again, WNW will give ya the right answer
  16. I've build mine canopys open, so no problem at all
  17. boats ?? explain please...d' ya have boats, real boats that sail ???
  18. I saw the pic with your drawing, but I really thought I had 'emm all ( rigging I mean ). I'll post a better picture one of these, then have a look again and correct me please. Anyway, thnx for the input, as said in my introduction, I know nothing 'bout aircraft, just like to model them ( OOB ), keeps me calm and makes me happy
  19. Hello Roman, Ijust got home, took a look at my model, and there definitely is no gap there. btw, be aware of part 39b, if ya choose to make the model with closed cowlings, leave that part off, otherwise the cowling WILL NOT fit around the exhausts for the further build, the kit is great, it's just these few minors.. grtz Chris
  20. Strange, the diagram says nothing about that one, even went through loads o' builds, never seen that, can ya maybe post a picture?? maybe I can correct things then
  21. I'll have a look at my model when I get home, I'm at work now
  22. cannot recall if I had a problem there...does your cockpittub sit far enough to the front ??
