  1. Thanks Giorgio for pointing all these flaws on the Esci kit I am not a guru of marketing but i guess they add this kit to their catalogue only for the engraved panel lines Gotta get the original Italeri kit asap!! Carlos in Argentina.
  2. Thanks Tony for the response! Of course there are far better kits of the Tomcat in this scale like the new Academy kit or GWHs or even the Hobbyboss ones but the Italeri offers engraved panel lines, TARPS pod and nice selection of decals and in my country is not a pricey kit (at least the old Italeri release) Right now Im going to buy the "old one" and try to reescribe it, while Ive wait for the Esci kit to arrive to our hobby shelves. Hope my English is not too "rusty" for this forum! Carlos in Argentina.
  3. Although Tony specifies that this thread is not a review of the kit, can anyone tell how this kit looks like? If possible with pictures I would like to purchase one when arrives to my country stores. It looks like an upgrade of their previous Tomcat kit Hope you can help. TIA. Carlos in Argentina
  4. Thanks for your response, very helpful. I´ve printed a set of plans found on the internet and put it against the kit parts and looks very promising. You have to remember its a kit from the 60´s I´ve found very little info here, WIP or RFI sections. Even with the new ICM kit recently release. Well, Airfix should take note on this and bring us a new kit. Find the ICM kit in my country is almost an impossible mission. Thanks again Carlos in South America.
  5. Hello Forumers I want to ask about the dimension of this kit. Are they correct in general? I`m planing a WIP once i discover the use of Flickr. Hope you guys can help. Thanks in advance. Carlos in South America.
  6. Hello Forumers! I think the topic says it all...Hope you can help me with this question, share with me what you think about it. AIRFIX!! We need a new Yak-9 kit!!! Greetings. Carlos.
  7. Thanks Guys for your replies Im from Argentina and is very rare to find Eduard kits in our hobby shops and if we find them they are usually very expensive. I have an Airfix kit (new tooling) ive wonder if its possible to convert to an early nightfighter version or combining the two frames try to make a "G4" version... Have to check the Bf110 Group Build here for inspiration... although and sadly not to many Airfix kits builds to visit. Again thank you very much Mates for your replies. Maclovin.
  8. Hello Gentlemens Anyone who have this kit probably can tell whats inside the box...ive searched the web but no luck...only a youtube video but thats it.. It comes with a photo-etched set but i can not see if the antenna array is in the fret.. I know that the Eduard kit is way better than the Italeri offer but its not available in my country. They say that it has dimensions issues around the engines nacelles but i can live with that.. Hope you help with some images... Thanks in Advance. Maclovin. P.S.: Is my english correct??
  9. Hello Forumers I bought this kit from my LHS and checking some references it looks like Yak-1b to me but i could be wrong... Can you help with the general dimensions?? Are they accurate? I know this kit is kind of "vintage" but its cheap and readily available.... TIA Maclovin.
  10. Thanks guys for all your answers.... If you can see this website, you can understand what im trying to do... http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/viewtopic_t_47761_start_0.html One of the images shows the separate gun covers with an inside frame and they look like can be used to make the side camera openings. Obviously i would like to have this kit in my hands to confirm this... The RS Models are hard to get in my country and sadly im not counting it as an option. Im going to post some photos of my Airfix P-38 F/H conversion to F-5 but my camera broke down and only have the cellphone camera available. P.S.: I like recon airplanes and theres a "niche" that manufacturers do not really pay attention. For example... the Aichi E13 "Jake" was one the most produced aircraft in the japanese arsenal and we only have the ancient Hasegawa kit in 1/72....
  11. Hello Forumers Is it possible to convert the Revell kit to a F-5 recon airplane?? I mean, checking a russian website, it looks like the nose covers have an inside frame that allows to "carved" an opening for the side cameras...for the chiseled profile nose ...well ... have to try with files and sandpaper. For anyone who have this kit... can you confirm this point??? Hope you can help me. Thanks in advance. Maclovin.
  12. Hello Forumers I´ve always liked the recon version of the F-5E Tiger but there´s so little information about this kit. Hope you can help with reviews, images of the kit parts, etc Thanks in advance for your cooperation. Maclovin.
  13. Awesome build!!! Can you tell us how to make the photo-etched parts?? I've tried to make some drawings in AutoCAD for my Airfix P-38/F-5 Lightning project. My aircraft is going to be in a inflight/pole aircraft, for me accelerates the construction time. Also, it's a good idea for a Group Build... Maclovin.
  14. Like the way you solve the nose job. I did the same in my Airfix P-38 but i drilled the holes. How about the Revell P-38?? It scared me with all those panels open (engines, gun bays, etc), but in the positive side it's cheaper than the Academy offer. There's a review of the early Revell P-38/F-4A at Modeling Madness and it looks like a nice kit. I searched the web for the RS Models F-5 review but came out with empty hands. Regards, Maclovin.
  15. Hello Forumers Been waiting for the photos of your Revell photo recon Lightining!!!! Im building the Airfix P-38 and converting it to photo variant, hope turns out ok. Airfix should take note of this item and give us a nice P-38 with photo version option!!! Maclovin.
