Heres Monograms Harrier built a while back stright from the box except the rocket lunch tubes which came from the airfix kit. Not a bad kit for its age , well detailed and better than the Tamiya offering . Hope you all like it. cheers Keith.

Blinding Tony , just pure class, Those poly scale paints seem to work wonders on your models , can i ask where you buy them from ?

Special Hobby/Eduard 1/48th Spitfire Mk.Vc`s
keith in the uk replied to tonyot's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Lovely work as usuall Tony those Spits are spot on i look forward to seeing them in the mags too. -
A little more progress on the Beaufort . I started detailing the fuslarge by first filling in the impressions were the wings are then added some ribs and stringers from rod. In the nose section i added the navs table and equipment panel Laying the fuslarge on the plans has thrown up a problem , it seems the fuslarge is a little short in the tail area once the fuslarge halves are together i intend to cut the tail section off and add an insert. The wings have also had some work i have added the undercarrage bays , wing tip lights and landing lights The clear parts have also been cut out ready to be worked on , also in this shot you can see the compleated tail planes and wheels. More pics soon.

Airfix Battle of Britain Fighter Collection 1:72 (A50065)
keith in the uk replied to Adam's topic in Aircraft WWII
Not sure about a fighter collection , Hannants have the B of B Memorial flight listed AX10600 you do get a Spitfire MK11A and the Hurricane 11C along with the Lancaster. If its just the fighters you need then these can be sourced from other kits -
Very nice , the whole collection is starting to come together , look forward to seeing the finished models
-
I second that. There is no need to use decals for windows , Kristyl Kleer is all you need.
-
I hear you Bill , i do realise they are diffrent but i cant think of any other replacements . I checked Aeroclub but they dont do the Bristol Taurus engines as used on the Beaufort having said that once inside the cowlings not much can be seen .
-
Sure have Mike , while i was at it i did a little scribing where the panel lines had faded away . As luck would have it i just won a Tamiya Beaufighter on E Bay. worth it for the undercarrage legs , tail wheel and other bits .

Ok chaps here we go with Sangers Bristol Beaufort . Heres my refrence material along with a nice cut away drawing I have started in the usuall way by scribing round the parts with a craft knife and snaping them out , followed by sanding and clean up. i also cut out the hole for the turret the wing tip lights and various windows After i had cut out and prepared the airframe i turned my attention to the White metal parts , Oh dear Sanger what were you smoking at the time ? as you can see not much can be used so replacement parts will have to be sourced else were. Searching through my spares box i found a couple of engines and cowlings from a Tamiya Beaufighter , a vast improvement on the Sanger items. Also i unearthed the Wheels from the same kit together with the spoked hubs from a Tamiya Mosquito , i drilled out one side of the wheel and inserted the Mosquito hub hey presto Beaufort Wheels Heres the toilet paper errr decal sheet Next up detailing the fuslarge.

Time to build a Vac . Sangers Beaufort
keith in the uk replied to keith in the uk's topic in Aircraft WWII
I hear you chaps its not the greatest of Vacs but it is the only 48th scale Beaufort out there. I did have a go at this kit a few years ago but lost interest part way through so i do have a head start with parts from that kit. I also plan to use some parts from the Tamiya Beaufighter to speed things up a bit , ok im going in , wish me luck guys. -

Andrew . Forgive me for pointing it out but the Dark Green & the Dark Earth you are using look totaly wrong , both colours appear far to light , what paints are you using ? -
