Nice job , building the Trumpeter one at the moment , one observation tho , i would paint those tail pipes a burnt metal colour .

I feel your pain ☹️ however all is not lost , i would start by removing all the decals and clear parts, then prime the model with grey car primer , rub down with a sanding stick or fine wet and dry paper , then repaint , It may be possible to obtain a replacement decal sheet from Airfix or if the kit is out of production there are other sheets available . After all your hard work its worth saving. 👍

Great looking Spitfire in a welcome change from RAF markings , one nit pick tho , the crow bars were never Red on wartime aircraft , only restored aircraft have Red crowbars for safety reasons.

Nice project , did the same thing with the 1.48th Airfix Hurricane using the MDC Resin wings ( which now droop downwards )
Not sure about the wing profile which may be different from production aircraft , i do recall there is no strake under the rear fuselage , canopy is different , undercarriage doors have a different shape and the nose profile may need a tweek , no doubt there may be other things as well which i have missed but which others here will know more about. hope this helps a bit. 👍

Wow, considering you have been off the radar for 40 years that s a very impressive comeback . your skills looks fresh as a daisy to me.

I have recently been given the Airfix 1.24th scale ME 109E by my brother as a birthday gift ( Vintage Classics boxing ) . The last time i built a German fighter was the original 1.72nd scale kit which came in a poly bag from Woolworths 50 + years ago. over the years i have built the Hurricane and Spitfire but never the ME 109 so my knowledge of the pros and cons of this kit is limited so a little guidance would be helpful .
cheers K.

I am with Malpaso on this one , elastic thread works a treat , easy to work with and cheap to buy , i have rigged a bi plane in one evening with this stuff , secrete is rig before fitting the top wing or drill holes next to the struts before fitting the wings . then feed through and fix with super glue. 👍

Looking for a canopy for my MPM 1.72nd Lockheed Hudson as mine is missing.
If anyone has a trashed Airfix Hudson or the Falcon vax canopy from set no 30 which they no longer require i would love to hear from you.
