  1. Hi all, I am hoping to join in this group build as my - - first build in a long time - first build on a forum - and first group build! so please take it easy on me Plans are to build an Academy 1/35 Warrior MCV in UN Paintscheme. I started it last night so expect some photo's to appear in the main build forum this evening.
  2. Hi all, am looking for some advice. I am now about to embark on my first build for some time (and hopefully get it in the modern armour group build) and am looking for some tip's on weathering white surfaces. I am building a UN painted Warrior and my current plans were to use Promodellers Dark wash to color the panel lines and shadows but i'm not sure what would be best to weather the main white surfaces (and also how to do it!!!) Any ideas?
  3. Ah, Super glue! Any recommended product or is it a case of any old super glue?
  4. CA??? (appologies for being stupid !)
  5. I have read through the guide at the top about the seam filling and just wanted to ask a question or 2. At what stage would you do this work, whilst putting the pieces together or after they are glued? I've also read various things about grades of sanding materials, is the mastercrafters kits fine enough to give a good sprayable finish? Thanks for the help (as always!). Only a few more questions and then i will start putting up some pics of my current build
  6. Anyone with suggestions on how to model some seatbelts for a 1/48 Hurricane? Thanks!!!
  7. Ok, i have seen various posts about this Klear stuff. I guess i can just get it from a supermarket? Do you thin it down or mix it with anything or is it just a case of spraying a light dust over the whole model? At which point would i apply the weathering wash? i guess before the coat of klear before the decals?
  8. Before i start, thank you for reading Zymurgy's stupid threads episode 2 At some point in the next week or so i will be ready to paint the main section of my Hurricane and just want to clarify the steps i should follow. 1. Base coat - what to use? 2. couple of layers of the lighter camo paint over entire model 3. Mask using blutack and masking tape - anyone got some useful pictures of best way to do this? 4. couple of layers of the darker camo paint over the masked area 5. varnish coat? if so, what is recommended? Thanks in advance all!
  9. thanks for the replies, will see how it turns out Watch for my next thread about the order i should be spraying in
  10. well, i will be spraying but will also be my first time spraying! would it be worth making them a bit deeper? Planning to do a wash over the top of the paint to bring out the detail
  11. I have been reading the various threads about panel scribing but have a quick question. I am currently putting together a Hasegawa 1/48 Hurricane that has recessed panel lines however they don't seem that deep. Once they have a couple of coats of paint on i'm not overly convinced that the panel lines will still be visable. Do people normally re-scribe recessed panel lines? Or will i be ok leaving them as they are? Thanks!!!!
