  6. The nose towel rail aerials were add with the MAWS update sensor boxes on all aircraft some aircraft also received a L shape sensor around the crew entery door. Three boxes were add on the rear rotor drive cover larger centre one with aerial ontop T aerial under port nose & downward MAWS box add disc aerial on rear rotor cover replaced earlier aerial additional slab aerial on rear underside & square box on port side just in front of airstrake were late additions regards Len

  9. I have it all seems fine on this sheet if doing 1/72 make sure you get the right one you are quoting the 1/48 one

  11. A lovely finish on this model for Simons Surcis display. As a note for the future none of 892 NAS aircraft had the flangable raised hatch above the radar operators position as they were in the far East when they were fitted & as they were due to receive the Phantom FG1 the aircraft were not upgraded on return ,serving out there time at Yeovilton with the display team over the summer till disband. regards Len

  14. Fleet Air Arm Helicopters since 1943 Air Britain have some pictures of aircraft fitted with the yellow /red MAD stinger.
  15. See the Haynes manual for the Sea King it shows the beacon inside the tail boom then maybe you may believe us !! If memory surves me well it was on early Sea Kings marked in its old position behind the cockpit.

  17. The B is the location of the beacon inside the airframe which is activated when the aircraft enters the water to a certain depth.
  18. Yes the tow bar is attached to the rear wheel bracket which is steerable
  19. According to a chap that works at Westland I meet at the helicopter museum they will be the DSG /MSG Od the Wildcats.

  21. They were known as plane guard ships flight two Wessex HAR1 ARK ROYAL FLT were named MAKE 046 & MEND 047 HERMES Name was carried on the nose of her fit she was the only one to carry two Whirlwind HAR 9 For the early commissions .

  24. Seem to remember this was Light Aircraft Gray overall & a senior officer's mount for NATO Exercise. The Jordanian scouts had a prison cell in the back.
