  2. Hi Don They were EDSG topside & White lower, after aircraft in the Falklands War were tested with DSG ie Lynx it proved ideal the Royal Navy started painting their Sea Harriers,Lynx,Sea King AEW2,& in time secondline Hunters ,in the overall Dark Sea Gray scheme. See any line up of aircraft in the same colour !!!!some will look lighter or darker than the main batch.
  3. Colin Have sent you an E-mail hope they are clear enough to see . Len
  4. Hi Colin I think you are thinking of the three XW Reg machines at Boscombe Down which were Yellow,Green,White. calibration markings they brought for RAE from the start & served there all their lives. One is your side of the water at Thunder City. Have sent you Gulf war Lynx flare shots hope they are ok. Regards Len.
  5. Lovely tribute to the Dear Lady.
  6. Let,s hope the new RN Buccaneer S2 from Cyber Hobby is up to speck !!
  7. Great shot point of no return ! great aircraft.
  8. Two Dutch NH90 have been operating on exchange visit to Culdrose ,the crews are wearing orange flying overalls still.
  9. I have one coming down the production line ,the over wing pannier tanks fit well with a bit of filler, A2Zee Vixen update airbrake fits well with sides filed down. I understand that Cyber Hobby are to release the FAW2 at a later date.
  10. I think what you can see is the standard Vixen 150Gal fuel tank painted red with white sling markings, I have a picture of the Light aircraft gray with yellow black undersides aircraft with tank on port wing & Rushton pod with rocket just realised on S/B wing as the Canberra TT18 carried under both wings. Regards Len
  11. Try Warpaint No17 Has plans for all marks by Chris Bowley but they could be the same ones so check !!
  12. Going up Friday to set up Culdrose West Cornwall model stand ,we are in 702 NAS hanger so give us a look in on Sat . Have a good time Len.
  13. Hi Colin The RAF used HU5 Wessex on their OCU unit & HU5c with 84 Sqd RAF Akrotiri later went to Predannack but were shipped out again. Len
  14. Lovely job on this aircraft, did you make up the side name plate from individual letters ! to the black top it is so the aircraft shows up on the snow from above in the case of an emergancy, for rescue aircraft to spot it.
  15. From what I have seen they are a black tinted colour,Tamiya smoke tint clear should do.
  16. Though not the best kit the Airfix HAR5 has both the Air filter & 771NAS markings in it . The side nose number & Ace of club badge are rearly seen these days though ZA166 816/CU is carrying them & the large Ace of Clubs badge on the underside . The thermal pod is appearing under the Port wheel housing & a telematery aerial on the port side on the old rear torpedo position, to improve the all weather search capability . Whirlybird WBA72065 £2.50 +£1 pp do a great brass step for this aircraft.
  17. See in rumour the forth coming Cyber hobby Hu4 is getting a slating before it is released ,looks a good starting point for the type to me !!! are we getting too fussy about releases,at least they are bring out FAA types now. Grrr Grizzly
  18. You can get the Hasegawa kit via Revell cheaper they do the FRG2 which may have the slatted tailplane to build the Royal Navy FG1 version.
  19. You & me Tony but we had a good time getting there I think !!!! Len
  20. Ok Tony only if you call me Len
  21. A means of refuelling without landing, Fly Navy Len
  22. Therefor refuelling in flight !!!! or is in the hover not flying?
  23. Thanks to you all ,some great decal & resin bits at the end of the month!!!!!! , I remember those 702 NAS Lynx from PO flying into Yeovilton post Falklands with their Lynx tail markings having the 702 in the frown on their forehead very clever use of Squadron number plate & full badge on the main cabin door ,with high gloss Oxford Blue finish. Well done A 2 Zee team.
  24. All Westland Sea King RR Gnome engine aircraft had the power bulge on the Port side casing !! You will also need to leave the Port side airstrake off ,this was fitted on aircraft going to the Falklands & retro fitted to all models post Falklands. You will also need to use the German nose with spotlight & tongue aerial removed. The inflight refuelling position will need to be moved to under the main cabin door & a third ground refuelling piont add on the Port side centre of the two existing ones. Move the centre aerial pole back 5cm to original position ,use German Echo radar dome & delete all Mk5/6 aerials large droppler radar unit underneath this was flat unit on Mk 1/2 & leave orange crop boxes off. Barndoor air intake on Mk2 & finally use the sonor from the Airfix kit for these two plus Mk5 to back date kit to that period. This said there was one Mk2 at Preswick Pre Falklands with NATO tone down markings & orange crop fitted !!
  25. If you look close they are tinted green !! there are also blinds at the rear ,that could be pulled over to cut out glare.
