  1. Looks great. The base is outstanding & the finish on the exhaust is very realistic, really has that heated, metallic look. Nicely weathered & the panel line s look good. I'd change the flaps, though. Your work is very good & it detracts a little as it just looks a little "wrong".
  2. That's a very good finish for a hand painted plane. In fact, for any plane!
  3. Tamiya's fine white primer is brilliant stuff.
  4. That's one big kit! Am I missing a trick by not washing the parts before I build?
  5. Looks good, reminds me of the Stuka in the Hendon RAF museum.
  6. I'm glad I bothered to look, the extra 1 second was well worth the effort.
  7. I love German WW1 aeroplanes - they have such a huge range of finishes and colours available, especially compared to Allied aircraft of the same period. How did you get the checker finish on the yellow & black D.VII?
  8. But you can only get weathering to look good - and appropriate - once you've managed to get the paintwork and finish correct, so you've got that part sorted!
  9. Indeed. When a crappy 1/72 Airfix is put together & looks better than what I produce from one of Tamiya's finest in 1/32, it's a little disheartening!
  10. Excellent news. I'm a prop guy - I'll keep an eye out for anything you may publish going forward.
  11. If it's simply Special Hobby's kit re-boxed, it may be best avoided unless priced very cheaply. If it's a new mould I'll take a couple.
  12. I keep coming back to this build to get some courage to have a crack at some of my more challenging kits - especially the Special Hobby P-39D in 1/32. The fuselage is too short, but compared to the frankly heroic work on this build that's a walk in the park.
  13. Lovely, an interesting plane to model, pretty unique looking aeroplane. I've got the Special Hobby P-39D in my stash, but the need to lengthen the short fuselage keeps putting me off. Builds like this - and the frankly heroic Airfix il-2 build - gives me confidence to get up in the attic and dig it out.
  14. The only jet I've modelled was the Me262, but the quality of the jets people are producing on here is making me think about adding a couple to my stash.
  15. That camo finish and the folded wings really add interest and make it look alive and threatening. Love the opened panels and the detail inside as well. Really very impressive, I'd be happy to get something looking that good. How long did it take you? What paints did you use?
  16. When I read Airfix & 70's, I feared the worst - but that's a really lovely, well made, attractive model. Especially like the panel lines - is that pre or post shading?
  17. It's not brilliant, but not amongst the worst I've come across - not by a long way! Bit of work on the canopy, touch up the paintwork & add some weathering and you'd have a mediocre model on your hands.
  18. Beautifully finished. Biplanes look just so interesting & have bucketfuls of character.
  19. Bloody hell - amazing. You sure that's only 1/48 - looks about 1/1 to me!
