Another useful snippet of information about the radiator mounting screws. Thanks Steve.

One incredible model truck build. Will be a real conversation piece when it is finished and starts to be displayed at any shows.

Interesting comments on your earlier post KP. Have recently bought this kit and will annotate the instructions in mine where you suggested a different sequence to get around the problems you encountered. So thanks for that but of advice.

1/24 white metal car kits (UK cottage industry)

The Daimler Dart was a real departure from their core business model.....luxury cars. You either love its looks of hate it. I believe that the police used limited numbers of them? -
Very nice build.

That's interesting.. I wonder what the Germans call what we would term a limousine here in the UK? -

Nice beetle build taking shape here. Revell calling it a limousine is 'stretching' it a bit! -
Found the kit advertised...........Enormous! Saw Agora's 1/8th scale James Bond DB5 and Shelby AC Cobra on their stand at Telford. Both gorgeous models!

Is that someone looking for a model maker to build one? Or is it a new kit announcement?

Talking of wire wheels, one of the very best sets of injection moulded wires I have ever seen was on a Monogram kit from the sixties, their Ferrari 250LM. Photo etched generally looks better than many injection moulded wire wheels, But if they are not designed to layer the spokes, the ones that do not never look convincing at the crossover point as Matt pointed out. Looked at closely the spokes will always appear flat. Other than lacing wheels with real thin wire the new 3D printed ones will be the way to go. -
Another jewel in the Zamiara crown!

Did the Daimler version have a V8 instead of an in line engine? I can remember a friend having the Daimler version and it was a lovely car. -

Looks a nice model that you built there. the Auto kits range carried a lot of the older MG cars as white metal kits in 1/24th scale. Squires at Bognor Regis acquired the Finecast and Auto kits fairly recently. I still have the Autokits MG TD kit waiting to be built. -

Neddy, That MG TF might be one of the Auto Kits range? It is the only TF kit I can think of but their range is in 1/24th. Don't forget that Tamiya did a Mk2 Jaguar saloon too. K&R replicas have been around for a long time now and better known probably by 1/43rd enthusiasts than 1/24th sale builders. -

Matt, I think SMTS had a dabble in 1/24th a number of years back, but don't think they do anything in that scale now. Last time I looked at their website all the car kits listed were 1/43rd. The E Type I have and the AC Cobra that I think they did are the only ones that come to mind, but they just may have done one or two other kits in 1/24th that I am unaware of. Cheers N. -

Italeri 1/12 Bugatti 35B

Looks like a car that has been in storage for a while. Nicely accomplished paint job.I Where did you obtain the Decalcas spotted bolts from? Agree about the spare wheel. Why supply a carrier and no wheel to go on it? A bit weird! My guess is that Italeri may at some time in the future produce a road going car that will include the spare plus mudguards and lamps. -

1/24 white metal car kits (UK cottage industry)
Noel Smith replied to cmatthewbacon's topic in Vehicle Discussion
SMTS did a few kits I believe in 1/24th. A have their Mk1 Jaguar E Type kit. Definitely not for a beginner. Complex with a lot of parts that I have yet to build. I believe they made an AC Cobra in the same scale, but I do not know what else they may have done in 1/24th. White metal is heavy and some built models suspension units have been known to give way gradually underneath due to this without some sort of support placed under the bodywork. Looking at my E Type kit I would say that on first impression the casting is as good as the Wills Finecast Bugatti T59 I also have. Incidentally, what happened to Western Models? They appeared to be a big player in the white metal model and kit front back in the day. -
Good start. Will be following this one!

Thanks for the explanation guys.

Nice model Matt. I think K&R Replicas are still trading. -
