  1. She's a beaut....inspiring me to start ny first 1:48 spit in my stash !!
  2. Just finished a Gazelle I picked up cheap on fleabay, I've put a little detailing on such as the 'H' antenna - although the ventral anteena has fallen off !! First attempt at some scratch seat belts as well, quite enjoyed doing this I think helo's can be more challenging than fixed wing at times......all that glazing and masking !!! The grey camo colour may be a bit light as I had some difficulties with humbrol acrylics 127 - so used a tamiya MSG I had to hand(fading perhaps?) Main thing is I managed to put in enough lead to stop it tail sitting!!
  3. Airbrush, Vallejo MA aluminium and tamiya olive drab. Used a oil based wash on it, perhaps a bit too severely !!
  4. Just finished the Hobbyboss 'easybuild' Mustang - went together well - there are only a few parts. My only gripes are the Canopy frame being moulded in with the body and the decals; wrong size fuselage decals(replaced) and only one nose art decal. I'm revisiting a/c modelling after a break of some 40 years, this is about my 6th attempt so far. Any tips gratefully recieved
  5. Thanks Ancient M, the paint is actually Humbrol enamel gloss 15(I couldn't get hold of an acrylic equivalent) , looks like I need to get some Microsol ! Incidentally in my defence the decals were very thick
  6. Many thanks Martin, I'll try the Microsol before I get the airbrush out
  7. HI there Folks, I'm a revisiting model aircraft after about 30 years and it looks like things have changed a lot I decided to try my hand at a bargain I picked up on ebay. I seem to recognise this offering from my youth !!! Went together Ok ish and I tried my hand at airbrushing for the first time - and was reasonably pleased But the large wing and tail decals look awful due to air bubbles under them - would you advise me to rub them off and airbrush them on ? Can you recommend some decent masking tape? My 'wilco' stuff suffers from 'creep' I think. Have a look and see what you think anyway - try not to be too cruel and another view
