  1. Was airbrushed using blutack "sausages". First attempt at 3 colour camo.
  2. Hi again fellow modellers, As noted earlier I've recently moved so have not forummed(new word) anything for a while so I'm playing catch-up, so apologies for the amount of topics at short notice. This is Italeri's version of the Hellcat night fighter, pretty straightforward. I rushed it because it was my last build before the move so I'm hoping I've got the weathering OK; gloss sea blue is a challenge for weathering! The aerial in the kit is wrong, it's the forward angled one from the -3 version so fitted one made of wire plus whip aerials dorsal and ventral. I'm not sure but there may have been other aerials on the NF version but seraches on the net did not reveal anything. Paint is a ancient tin of Humbrol gloss blue and I think I put a satin vallejo varnish over it. Anyway here goes:
  3. Hi Folks, back again after a house move, have been modelling but not had chance to set up a photo area(still not really finished, hence the poor shots, for a whilwe anyway!). During the house move as I was shifting my finished models I noticed this. I'd dismissed it at the time as not good enough to pass muster for RFI, but on refelection have changed my mind, hence these shots of a two year old build. I re-did the exhausts as they were wrong ......and probably still are . Also some RPL's were erased and re-scribed(badly....not one of my strong points!) Anyway here it is, not many pics so shouldn't be too painful. Queries and criticism welcome. Paints are Vallejo Model Air IIRC. Cheers, Nige.
  4. Another superb example of your work Tony. Getting modern US Navy birds to look 'right' is an artform in itself. You seem to have to start weathering from the beginning of painting !!
  5. Wow,........can of worms or what 😮, at least in gives me a bit of poetic licence 👍.........think I will go for RN J without serial numbers, will be on RFI soon 😁
  6. Thanks for the input all. The two particular schemes I had in mind were 54 sqdn KL-B, and 72 sqdn RN-J, both schemes are depicted with and without serial numbers at different times(?)
  7. Hi Folks Firstly apologies if this has been discussed before, but I can't find any content. I am currently building a spitfire mk 1 and have a number of decal options; a couple of them do not include a serial number. Is this because: A) the decal manufacturer does not know the serial number B)the number was not displayed on the actual aircraft I always assumed that it was written in stone that serial numbers were displayed (apart from perhaps having invasion stripes painted over) Can anyone help?
  8. Marvelous, stunning and stupendous are just a few of the superlatives to describe this masterpiece
  9. Hi If anybody is still with this topic !! Got an email from Revell(Germany) today stating: "Dear Mr. Stephens, This item is a cull item. The parts are not any longer available. Kind regards your service department Revell " Looks like Pavla canopy option then hope it fits !!
  10. Fantastic Spit Mathy, really well done. I had a sit in one like this at I at IWM Hendon last year, twas awesome well worth the tenner 😊
  11. Thanks for the info guys, I just remembered I've used the Revell spares service before for a broken 109 canopy, they took their time but got there in the end, there was no charge IIRC. Anyway I've popped a request off, let's see what happens. I got an acknowledgement e-mail so that's a start. 😊
  12. Hi Folks, I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question but here goes. Following some ebaying with a touch of alcohol the other night I find myself the proud owner of a Revell 1/72 f/a-18E super hornet...... .....Without the canopy. My fault as it was described in the advert 😢 Anyway I am looking for a supplier of an aftermarket canopy for said beast, to no avail as yet. My main question is will an F/A-18a or c canopy fit the super hornet? As Pavla do one in this scale. If it doesn't quite fit no problem as I can pose it 'lid up'. Any advice please you Rhino buffs?
  13. Absolutely superb mate grey aircraft always a pose a challenge imho.
  14. That's a lovely skyhawk Dermo, thanks for sharing
  15. Hi Neil & thanks. I used Tamiya acrylics, who seem to do the most accurate (to me) colours for the RAF day scheme
  16. Was worth the repost, fine work sir !!
  17. This is fine example of what we all aspire to(but rarely attain) Stunning and astounding.
  18. Hi Piero, Try hosting from Google Photos........we can't see owt. Shame to miss it.
  19. Hi Fellow Modellers, Just thought I'd share my latest offering, Airfix's 1/72 recently re-tooled Typhoon 1B. Cracking kit no real issues. Next time I'll probably spray the yellow leadig edges.....the decals are a SOB to fit One mistake I made was to fit the launch rails before I'd put on the invasion stripes so it morphed into the 'plain' version you see here. I've often overdone the weathering on my builds(to say the least) so I eased back on this one and I'm quite pleased with the result. Any way here goes(three cheers for Google Photos) Comments and critique most welcome.
  20. Here goes my tests: Onedrive: no idea what to do? dropbox: don't seem to work.
