Missing the port light cover, can not find it for the life of me It was an easy kit to build, hand painted with life color acrylics, and used Novascale decals. The decals were awful and folded up on themselves and would not set. I will one day buy new decals and try again.

G'day guys, Is there a canopy mask for the Vulcan available other than the one that comes with the Wolfpack aftermarket set? I picked up this kit quite cheaply, and I'm not looking to spend to much on it, only on paint and a mask (it will only need to look good at a distance, not too detailed). Any help would be appreciated

That just looks amazing

That's a really nice Meteor mate

Don't worry about it now. The Caribou just melted after one my friends placed it near a heater and walked out of the room. -

Just the Hobbycraft kit ones. sweethearts they were too. Should be an interesting talk, better than the brief with CDF everyone else is going to anyway. -

I will be there! (Finally!) I would appreciate that spare 7 mate if you can find it I just can't seem to tape it up correctly. Rather than screw it up, I thought I would leave it for now until my patience returns to normal haha -
Not a great job, probably on par with my earlier Macchi I guess. The decals really frustrated me at times (as you can see by the Nose 73), and I know the nose is meant to have black on it, but I have absolutely no idea how you guys manage to paint that kind of detail on. When I get some ideas and suggestions I'll have a crack at it. I also really regret trying to use Maskol on the cockpit, it didn't work and you can see the results. It's also nose heavy (rookie error), I haven't really come up with a plan of attack for that yet, but I'll figure out something. When my Ez-Line gets here, I will also do the attena rigging. Well, that's model No 2 finished. Open for criticism

RAAF MB-326H A7-008: CFS
thatguy1992 replied to thatguy1992's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Thanks for the comments everyone I won't be at ScaleACT mate, the powers that be have decided that my irrelevant currency on operating out field is more important than having my birthday weekend off.... haha. And it is indeed the Hobbycraft Caribou, I wish there were more around, especially now with the release of the 38SQN Retirement scheme decals, not that I could do that scheme even if I tried! -
Hey guys Well I'm going to call it finished. It doesn't look crash hot, certainly not up to par with the quality that everyone else here produces, but its my first ever model, so I wasn't expecting much more. I've done it as A7-008 would have been delivered to CFS, pre Telstars. If there are any faults or easy fixes you notice, let me know I learnt ALOT, and the next models I'm working are already reaping the rewards from my previous clumsiness and lack of knowledge on this one. Next up is a late 76SQN MB-326 and a 35SQN Caribou. P.S I've added the Bang Bang seat warnings on the Starboard side now.

Got this kit the other day and decided to do it up as one of the 50th Anniversary of Hercules Operations - RAAF The interior is painted, its first coat of primer is on and is awaiting some fine sanding paper for tidying.

Very nice work! -
Nice Beaver mate, very well presented and turned out!

And also, todays effort: Winjeel is now in Sydney under my girlfriends care, so I will work on my Lancaster this week!

I was on "work experience" for lack of a better term, 2 months of flying at 2FTS through a trial that is being run at ADFA to see if giving gradual flying training will increase the pass rate of pilots out of 2FTS in the long run. Back in the Berra now. I would love to come to one of the meetings, and I will try to be there on the 21st!

Probably bit off a lot more than I could chew with this kit, its the High Planes 1/72 resin kit, and is for "experienced modellers only." I haven't made a kit since I was 12 so its been quite a struggle: (My girlfriend has the CMR Winjeel kit on the left haha) Now smoothing the paint out and re painting imperfections: I'll have to rescribe all the panel lines, sand it down again and do another coat. Its not going to turn out great, but I've learnt to maybe start off on easier projects first!

Going with a brush rather than airbrush now, any changes in paints? Have started the kit now, cockpit is progressing well

Bloody hell you guys know your stuff!

Both of those B707's are amazing!
