  1. If it helps, I visited Mikasa in May 2019 and took a few shots. Start here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/152343870@N07/48066046623/in/album-72157692753004810/ and then click right. Best of luck with the build.
  2. Thanks Keith - know of them and will contact.
  3. This is fortuitous – I was just thinking this morning that I need to thin-out the stash. Now well into my “bus pass” years, I have to accept many kits will never be built (at least not by me) and could well be chucked in a skip when the time comes. Of course, I could flog them one-by-one on e-Bay, but that’s probably more hassle that it’s worth. So, I’m looking for a reliable dealer in second-hand kits (mostly 1:48 aircraft, but a few 350/400 scale ships as well) who will take them off my hands for a reasonable price. Preferably somebody based north of Manchester and south of Glasgow, so I can load the boxes into the back of the car and deliver. Any thoughts?
  4. For anybody interested, a link to the real G-HEBS: https://www.flickr.com/photos/152343870@N07/42620146545/in/album-72157699057528425/
  5. I have never bought from this company, but they look to have some interesting decals: http://www.jbot.ca/welcome.shtml
  6. Oh, this cheers me up no end. Perhaps my paint jobs are not so bad after-all
  7. Interesting YouTube clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKlOfpCw8aE gives some of the history and why this project was cancelled.
  8. Request to those wonderful and very nice (lick, lick) people who do after-market decals - please could you produce either: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3387444 or : http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3075887 I know - it's not as easy as that. But we hairy Scots feel deprived
  9. Take care with the Max decals. I tried to produce an Aer Lingus DC-3 (using the Esci kit) and those decals which did not fall apart stuck like a leach to the first bit of plastic they touched, which was not necessarily where I wanted them to go. Nothing would move them – short of sandpaper! Total disaster – kit now on the “shelf of doom” awaiting repainting (someday, perhaps, never). Now, it could well have been my fault and the decals were years old – but take care. I suggest you scan the decals first and then use Micro liquid decal film. Best of luck – look forward to progress reports.
  10. Sent a copy of “The Dambusters” film to a German friend some time ago (he’s an engineer by profession) and he was amazed – he knew nothing of the raid. The film, to his knowledge, has never been shown in Germany – either in the cinema or on TV. So those English football supporters who chant the theme when their team play Germany are wasting their time – the Germans haven’t a clue what they are on about!
