You're quite right, I got mixed up there. F8+HH, at least according to the Printscale decal instructions, started as D-AMHC "Nordmark". Don't have a clue how that happened! And yes, the Revell kit is a simple version of the airliner. The engine nacelles would need some work, cockpit is, well, odd, completely empty fuselage and only the requisite lumps or bumps, but looks like a Condor.

Good afternoon all, I've just acquired the Revell FW 200A transporter. It comes with decals for an aircraft marked F8+HH and bearing the KG.40 World in a ring insignia. I understand this aircraft was originally D-ARHW "Friesland" operating with DHL. At the time it wore these marking it was supposedly engaged in transport duties for Operation Weserubung - the invasion of Norway. Now, try as I might, I've not been able to locate a photo of this aircraft in this configuration. Can anyone help out? Thanks, Matt

I have the same affliction/addiction for Bristol's products - 3 Blenheims, A Beaufort and another on the way, plus 10 Beaufighters and counting. Being Australian of course I strongly urge at least one Beaufighter XXI. The Hasegawa Sperry auto pilot bulge can be made to fit the Airfix kit, but Both CMK and HPM make conversion sets and they also include decals. This is a project I'd like to do one day. Well, thanks gents. I think in the long run I'll go with a Foliage Green/Earth Brown/ Sky Blue scheme. The paintwork looks too new to my way of thinking to be the original TLS in the photos of the crash. And just to throw some oil in the fire I just found this page at the 30 Squadron site by Jim Turner - http://www.beaufighter30squadronraaf.com.au/A19-27.html This contains an aerial view of what purports to be A19-27 taken by Damien Parer in February 1943, but I suspect from he information on ADF Serials this is actually A19-8, which was also coded H. Oh well, this has been an interesting exercise, if for no other reason that on examination of the photos I found I put my tail planes on downside up! Now fixed! Cheers, Matt

OK, I've read right through this and I think I'm a little wiser! I still would like a considered opinion on the following: The 1/72 DK decals version of A19-27 has it finished in TSS. Looking at the photos of this aircraft after coming to grief in June of 1943 it looks to me that it has been repainted - I'd reckon the wavy demarcation on the lower fuselage is a good clue as I don't recall any RAF Beaufighters painted in that style. So I'm guessing that it would have been in Foliage Green/Dark Earth/Sky Blue at this point. What say the experts? Cheers, Matt

Hi Mike, Many thanks. I think the easiest way to make sure you have the demarcation right is to paint the white first, then carefully cut the decals out and lay them on the model in the correct position. Then lightly mark underneath this a pencil and move your masking up a bit beyond that, noting that the cheat line narrows towards the nose and tail. The trickiest part is the zig-zag, but if you get the main line and the point that it breaks back right, you should be OK. I'll have to do the same on my VC-10 very soon, and on my Argosy when I get around to doing that. Thanks everyone else for all your kind remarks. Thank you. The Owl reference for the FuG 202 is aftermarket resin and photo etch. No kit, but judging by the finesse of the photo etch, it would be a fine kit were they to make one. Cheers, Matt
