  1. That's a great build, lovely detail especially the windows on the fuselage. I couldn't do that so good skills!!!
  2. Lovely build. I'm doing the Revell 1/72 version and I think, like you that I prefer the Belle without the medium green splodges!
  3. Brilliant thanks all, xtracolour seems the way to go then!
  4. Hi all, Some advice please on what type of "green" paint I should use on the Revell B17. Revell suggests its own NATO olive (46) but I have read that it's not very accurate (clue in name NATO!) I have cross checked with Humbrol and there are no similar paints except 155 which is drab olive green, this makes sense to me but can anyone else who's done the kit confirm please? Many thanks.
  5. Getting married is quite a good one as opposed to me, I'm just being lazy! Lol
  6. Hi, erm slowly! I agree the build is a lot more complex than I first thought and I'm expecting Xmas completion too! Best of luck with the wedding!!!!
  7. Hi did you manage to finish this by your deadline?
  8. Hi, lighting?! Wow that's impressive. I've been a bit slack too, still airbrushing the hull. Time has flown so now getting my head down and cracking on with it! Looking forward to seeing the illumination.
  9. I think we should do a group build lol! Just finished my last model so now gearing up to tackle the Titanic.
  10. Thanks everyone! The dam I agree is out of proportion I think there has been a thread about this. As for the bricks I bottled out and did a white wash. This was the first time I attempted such a feat and it worked out! That said an earlier posting has the sane model but with a darker wash and it looks great but as it was my first attempt I wanted to play safe and go with a light one.
  11. Hi all, Deep breath; here's my first submission, the famous Dambuster! I haven't built a model for years, so have lost some of the art, I also treated myself to an airbrush, and this is the first time I have used it in anger! My Grandad was on Lanc's and his badge is framed next to the base. I hope therefore I have done this some justice to honour him. I really enjoyed building it, learnt a lot of lessons on the way and made some mistakes too (removing masking tape was a task and half, even with goo gone and WD40)! I also have used this forum as a guide and picked up some useful tips, although some after the event i.e. to use gloss varnish before applying decals!!!! Please let me know what you think, I really want to get better so any constructive advice will be most appreciated. I know this isn't up to the standard of the models on this forum, but after a modelling break of nearly 20 years, I had to start somewhere. Thank you.
