  1. This has to be the best fitting and most buildable kit I have built. I get the feeling you could poor some glue into the box, put the lid on and give it a shake and out would pop a perfectly formed Beau. Enjoy.
  2. Why is it aviation that seems to suffer so badly at the hands of the media? I have a DVD about the Hunter specifically aimed at aviation enthusiasts. It refers to the RR "Nehneh engine (s/b Nene), actual flow engines (s/b axial) and positive engines (s/b piston). The whole DVD carries on like this and is consequently spoilt which is a shame because there is some good stuff.
  3. I have to say wasn't impressed. The program was actually a composite of three (I think) other programs and the presenter's previous includes a program about how we gave the poor nazis an awful bullying during the Battle of Britain.

    Thanks for your kind comments.
  5. Just got mine today. Initial impressions are a very detailed kit. Quality looks excellent.

A few of my pics from last Sunday - Thanks for looking.
  7. A remarkable build. You have showed the patience of a saint. I am very much with the "It would have gone out of the window" school. One small criticism though - your Pizzas are slightly over done for my taste.
  8. Sorry Gents. I thought I had finished this thread. I did finish the model but for some reason that escapes me I didn't post any pictures. I'll post some later. Bottom line, this kit requires some talent which I did not have at the time, but a very detailed kit at 2/3 of the price of a Tamiya Mossie - bargain.

    Alclad on acrylic?

Thanks for the replies Gents. I gave it a go this afternoon and it was indeed OK. Unfortunately the surface quality simply wasn't good enough so I have rubbed it down and re-primed it and it is now in the airing cupboard outgassing ready for another visit to the paint shop on Friday. (Unless it turns into a plain black WIf )

    Alclad on acrylic?

I have had a silver moment. I am building a Revell Mk22/24 Spitfire and had decided to Alclad it. I remembered about the black undercoat and had a Tamiya rattle can handy so on it went. Only then did it strike me that it was acrylic and should have been enamel. I tried a sample, but it was rather inconclusive. Has anyone tried Alclad on acrylic? (Afterthought - a gloss black Spitfire 22 is a very pretty thing )
  11. I have a set from my Italeri Hunter like these If they are any good, PM me your address and I'll post them to you.
  12. Um - just to add chaos to confusion, I have a Tamiya Stuka which also has the Italeri badge on the box so I will be watching this with interest.
  13. Nice work Mike, but one curiosity - how has the pitot tube moved to the starboard wing in the last shot?
